hi guys, I've got a 2.0tdi a4 avant (blb engine). First time I've gone diesel seems to be a lifeless. Ive had a search on Google but can't find much info on modding the engine.

Looking at getting a stage 1 map done, has anyone done a front mounted intercooler to bring intake temps down and also how much is involved in completely removing the egr system. As my intake and manifold was full of built up carbon which I spent about 2 hours cleaning it all out which did make a bit of difference pulls a bit better from low rpm's

Any help or info would be good

Not much involved with getting rid of the EGR, can either blank it or get an Allard delete kit, should be a couple of tutorials knocking about somewhere. All depends on your budget and how far you want to take it really, if it's a 140 then a BV43 turbo, straight pipe, intercooler, EGR delete and map will bring it a fair way over 200bhp or if it's 170 same without needing the turbo. Then of course you can go for crazy figures if you go for bigger turbo's and injectors but you'll need a different manifold which will again bump up the price (and this is already a fair amount of cash).

Best to know where you want to be with the car before you do anything as power is addictive, need to know before you get it mapped as stage one isn't enough for some greedy buggers like me, plus if you swap intercoolers and other bits and bobs it's best to go for a custom map rather than generic which will again bump up the price.
