ok I have the RNSE unit fitted from factory, after a year of ownership of my current 2005 s4 cab, it's starting to misplace me. Sometimes im on another road sometimes in a completly different county! So I keep resetting the start position when I get home so I know I'm exactly outside. But after a short drive I could be anywhere. I read about fitting a new gps aerial so after following some links I bought a puck style one, about £25 so not a cheap i unit. I pulled my stereo out and checked the nav map it was showing me as being about 1/2 mile in the sea! So I plugged in the new gps turned off, done a reset of the unit by holding in the nav and setup buttons together, all fires back up and nothing im still parked in the sea! I go into engineering mode and under nav info and gps I have no satellites found.
With new puck type

I also forgot to say it's a brand new 2014 sat nav disk

Open the case up and check to see if the wire is still secure on the blue connector and the circuit board.

Well i ad a look over the weekend and everything seems intact, is it possible it needs the genuine audi antenna?

I've used plenty of the puck antenna's and they have worked just fine.

Do you have access to VCDS to see if there are any fault codes on the unit.

No i don't and don't actually know anyone who has, apart from a dealers and after the last £720 bill for my last service, i'm keeping clear of them for a while..lol

Have a look at the VCDS section of the forum for someone close to you.
