I've just bought a pioneer SPH-DA110 and am having trouble connecting my ipod classic (6th gen) to it. I have the right cable - CD-IU201N - but when I connect it the unit isn't picking up the ipod. The ipod charges so there is some kind of connection there, but I can't get any tunes out of it!

Any ideas?

Nevermind, always seem to find the solutions after I post!
In case anyone else is in the same boat, you have to change the app mode in settings from ipone AV to Other. Not sure why, since its an ipod classic and so has no apps, but it works!

Hi, i'm sorry to bump an old thread but I'm completely out of idea's.

I've just bought a 5th generation iPod classic to use with my pioneer app radio, which i'm not that impressed with. I've got the cable for my iPhone 5 but i'm fed up of every time I want to use my phone plugged in I have to open the app, leave it on and can't lock my phone. I'm also annoyed that it keeps asking for permission to load different apps, I haven't found a way to set it to auto-accept. Anyway i've bought this iPod classic that I can leave plugged in but still play music without having to use all my battery on bluetooth playback. When the iPod is plugged in the icon appears so it can see the iPod, it's charging but the music doesn't play. I've tried on a Zepplin and the iPod is capable of playing music via the 30pin plug, just not the stero. It's just a constant, very faint, beeping noise. Do I need a similar sort of cable as I have with my iPhone 5 or can I just use the USB? The only thing I can think of is that the HDMI is still plugged in, could this affect it at all?

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you

Are you using the cable in my first post? CD-IU201N
Also, when you say the icon appears, do you mean it lights up yellow?
And have you changed the app mode in settings from ipone AV to Other?

I'll have to check, whatever cable I'm using has a standard USB input so I can use that HDMI + lightning adapter.

I don't think that's the right one. The one I use is a weird double cable that has a USB connector in the middle of one of the cables. Have a look on ebay, they're not that expensive

Just a quick update; I received that cable you mentioned yesterday, spent a while last night pulling out my head-unit, fitted the cable and all works well.

Thank you for your help, I was nearly tearing my hair out (what's left of it).
