No mudflaps fo the b8 s-line?????????

so i went to fit my universal rear flaps last night, and it was basically impossible.

the arch guard sits in way past the edge of the bumper, so there is nothing to screw into to attach the mudflap.

Only way it could possibly be done is to make a bracket for it but would need to be drilling into my bumper for that. Obviously thats something that i dont want to be doing.

Hate the standard moulded flaps as they are too narrow for my wheels

The SE mud flaps fit the S line. Few people on here have fitted them and I have seen a lot driving around with them fitted.

They do fit! People on here have done it!

So is it genuine that fit then. I know the front genuine fit, but another member said rear won't fit b8.5 and they used aftermarket rear. Pm'd member but no reply..

Would just like a definitive answer before buying them

The Ebay ones DO NOT fit the front and rear S-Line B8.5. All I keep seeing on here is they fit, they fit, they fit, loads have done it, maybe they have to a B8, but "NOT" the B8.5. The B8.5 has different shape bumpers and wheel arch liners.

The Rears are completely the wrong shape against the bumper.
The Fronts are the right shape against the bodywork, BUT they do not fit against the wheel arch liner at all. Wrong shape, fixing holes in wrong place etc.

I'm not stupid, I'm an electro-mechanical engineer and I would have fitted the darn things if I could, the front flaps "could" be butchered by removing the incorrectly moulded parts so they "sit" against the liner better but it would leave too little material left, to attach it to the wing & sill and still no fixing holes in right place either.
Alternately the liner could be removed and butchered, but that'll just leave dirty great holes in it for cra*p to get in, it'll just be a bodge either way and I don't do bodge.
They ended up being a waste of money that I should have spent on beer.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, it is a bit because I kept reading "they will fit, loads have done it" so I ordered them, took a day off work to wash car and fit them, you know the rest

I'm just trying to prevent someone else wasting time & money on this.

Thanks mate this is exactly what i wanted to know about my B8.5.Thanks god you replied as just waiting on audi to phone back for the order of them. Will not purchase mudflaps now.

Cheers

Could you not get some foot mats and use those as mud flaps? That's what ppl do with corsas n stuff do

If anyone finds a set of slim line looking ones that fit a b8.5 let me know please.......not a fan of the genuine ones as they look really bulky!

I took the genuine Audi fronts off my B8 SE and fitted them onto my B8.5 S-Line without too much hassle at all.

Rears wont fit, so I sold them.

I will now leave you to continue to blow your own trumpet lol

Not blowing my own trumpet, just replying to the electro-mechanical engineer who could not get his to fit ;)
