Hi guys,

Broke my rear wiper arm when cleaning the car last.

Am looking at replacing it with an aero option from another VAG car. any suggestions which ones are the right sort of length from maybe a newer a3, golf, toureg etc?

thanks

Would the 8v not fit the 8p?, an areo wiper looks a lot better IMO. Anyone have a part no for the 8v wiper.

Cheers Dan

Sound job. I hate the rear wiper but cant bring myself to delete it.

I've got the 8v on my 8p straight fit look spot on

Done this on mine. Q3 wiper it was advertised as but it looks identical to the one you linked.

Took an age trying to get the old one off.

Ha it's not for everyone but I prefer the smooth look!

I thought about deleting the wiper but I would miss it too much. The Q3 one is a good compromise.

I think hatchbacks need them unless it's the type that are on the body work rather than the glass where you can filler and paint, but when you remove them from the glass you can see the bubble where it should be.

I hate them on coupes though and Japanese cars seem to have them!

So, how have people got on replacing theirs?

Here we go.. It works but didn't fit very well I had to enlarge the whole as it was too small on the new arm but I got there

Does look better imo. Was it much modding to fit?

Nah just took a round file to the hole in the new one to widen it out until it fitter better as I couldn't fit the washed nozzle on before due to it not going on far enough

Looks good,
common problem with the A3's is that the rear wiper motor itself fails.
Iv read somehwere that the mk4 golf wiper motor is a cheaper alternative?

Has anyone got the Part No for the wiper arm, would like to get the real McCoy from TPS, the guy there today was a little useless and said the rear wiper arm was the same as the one for the 8p........

Cheers Dan

The spring fell off my rear wiper when I was washing my car last week I did try to refit it but I couldn't manage anyone had this before?was thinking of ordering a new spring but thought I'd try a search on here first thanks in advance

I've ordered the 8v arm and blade from TPS this morning for my s3 sport back so I'll let you know if it much to fit and post pictures.....:)

Cheers Dan

That's exactly what I had and that's why I ordered the one I did.

I had a couple of attempts to put it back on but I was going to end up scratching the boot i'am needing to go to Dundee Audi for oil anyway so I'll maybe order a new spring when i'am there saying that your new one looks better are they hard to remove?

Mine was easy to get off but I had a removal tool in my tool box ;)

Would imagine that the bit of plastic that holds the spring has broken so that's why you lost the spring. I doubt you can get it separately either. I would replace the whole arm.

Fitted the 8v rear wiper on my s3 today fitted with no mods, easy as pie lol

If anyone wants part numbers let me know, cost all in all £35 blade, arm and cover

Is that the Q3 wiper arm? I think mine has lost the spring so I'm going to use this as an excuse to buy an upgrade one but don't really want to do much or any modding ideally, straight fit would be superb if possible...

Where from? Looked on eBay however not sure if the cheap ones (round £10-15) have the washer jets in the arm... Any help or advice greatly appreciated...

Sorry to revive an older thread but thanks for the part numbers and details dandav1985. Just carried this out today as I was having issues with my OEM rear wiper sitting flat and it couldn't have been easier. Was a perfect direct swap with no modification and it's a great improvement over the non aero flat blade set up.

Pulling the wiper arm off the taper bolt was straight forward too without a puller. Just grab low and give a sharp tug and it popped right off.

For anyone who is interested I got my parts directly from Audi for £44.00 inc VAT so it's a nice cheap mod.
