What's tyres do you have on your b6?

And do you choose new tyres by their rating? Or by reviews etc?

I get a discount on Asda tyres, so I've been looking.
Il be looking at the £100 mark per tyres

But some of these tyres are rated c-f on the ratings but.
Whilst a cheaper tyre has B B rating

What's your thoughts ?

I run hankook ventus v12's on my audi and Yokohama ad08's on the clio

I think mine drove best when on the original Michelin Pilots, lasted for miles and had loads of grip, most tyres on it are ok though.
I've got Bridgestones on the front at the moment, and they have stiff sidewalls, and can make it torque steer like a ******.

They are the only bits keeping you out of trouble, and you'll notice it most when you really need to rely on them.
Read the reviews and stay away from the likes of Prestivo..

I've got Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on mine. Great grip and seem to wear well. Will definately be replacing them with the same. PLus they have a cool tread pattern

Hankook K120 V12EVO2 235/40 ZR18 95Y XL
On mine at the moment and seem ok got them from tyreleader.co.uk for just under £94 each delivered

On second set of Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric, 235/45 17. This set are extra load (97) I think, and feel better than non xl, so whatever you choose consider going xl.
Mines an avant btw

Got Nexen N6000 on the front and find them quite good and not let me down.

Bridgestones on the rear are good too, but find the rear bunny hops with them a little as they are so stiff.

Will get some more Nexens for the rear when the Bridgestones die

Bridgestone Potenza all round. Well chuffed with their overall grip (for how I drive) and they are wearing very well.

I ran bridgestone on the x5 wheels and wore well considering the camber.
They were 215/35/19 so we're quite stuff.

I've went back standard ATM, so back in 16s (saloon)

I'm after something that will last a long time, good grip and efficiently. I do loads of motorway miles so want something decent.

I've never really looked into tyres and always bought budgets, but the amount of mooney I've wasted I could of had good ones

Been looking at continentals Eco contact 5.
Got good EU rating, I don't need XL and these are used on new audis apparently

I reccomend the V-reds! Done ~20k on them so far and the fronts are probably good for another 5k. The grip is pretty good too.

Here's a pic from when they arrived... Such a good looking tyre!

Them do look good. What price range are them?

A tyre that does 20k+ is good in my eyes. I do about 16k per year and just can't justify budgets anymore.
Although if I get my new car sooner I may just put cheapy tyres on.

I had to get 4 new tyres as someone put 'cheapys' on! Dont scrimp on tyres!!

V-reds i paid about £80 a tyre for 235/40/18's.

Good man! Only a few square inches of rubber keeping you on the road in tricky situations.
Best mod for a car is decent tyres. (Imo)

I use Conti Contact Sport 3's on my A4 Avant. Got the 97 xl load rating do to towing a caravan plus the weight of the big heavy lump up front. I like these tyres. Get plenty of mileage out of them and I've had no grip issues.....I do drive spritely too!

I had Goodyear Eagle F1 assys on my S4. Another good set of tyres!! All weather handling was great. Found these to wear down a bit quicker than the CCS3s though.

The conti's seem to be people's favourite ATM
I know eagle f1s were all the rage a few years back, same with toyo proxies.

Looking at prices il either go with contact sports or Eco contacts (whatever they're called)

I had conti sc3 before my hankooks - seemed ok but very expensive for what they are IMO. Sc5 seem to be replacing them according to my local high street tyre place.

I learnt the hard way with a RS Turbo and cheap tyres back in the day, cost me £2k in the end after I parked it into the back of Cittren.

I'm surprised it didn't end by torque steering off a roundabout .

Has anyone got or used the uniroyals rainsport 3 ?

Have budget 'winda' tyres on the front of my TDI A4 and find them grand, but not as much wet grip as the uniroyal rainsport 2 that were on before.

I have Mayrun cheapo tyres fitted to my Xtrail when I bought it, and the tyre snob in me was going to change them asap! But as I do 40k a year and they were new, I thought I'd run them out first. Well, 20k later and they are still going strong, with loadsa tread and the weird thing is that I couldn't fault them! Gripped well in all conditions. Odd...

Fitted Vredestein Ultrac Vortis on my Avant Quattro in 235 40 18 at about £80 each. Pretty good but even though I have all new suspension all round and 4 wheel alignment, I still get a little understeer on fast roundabouts in the dry. Dunno about the wet as I don't drive like a knob in the wet...

I run Maxxis MA-Z1 - have done for the past two years.
I find them a good tyre - lots of feedback, used to run Toyo Proxes T1R before but found they wore out too quickly.

I would like to try out a more expensive tyre but running 19" with abit of negative camber means I only usually get 6 months from a pair of fronts.

Vredestein Ultracs here too. Can't recommend them enough. Loads of grip, wear well and most importantly....they're very sexy.
