Basically now the cold weather is starting I have started letting the handbrake off and you here the brakes snap off the discs!
I took it in to mechanics and they claimed it was rear calipers that had started to seize so I got them replaced and they are still doing the same thing!
Usually does this most after heavy rain fall, I'm started to think if I didn't even need to waste good part of £400 and if it could be something else? :/
Has anyone got an opinion on this??

It is rain turning to rust on the discs round where the pad is clamped.

This happens on mine too nothing to do with seized calipers. I does it on mine after I wash the car, or heavy rain all.

Thanks just so I know its normal and I'm not the only one!
At least all my breaks are new front and back now if anything! Will be keeping close eye on mechanic from now on!

This led to an interesting post on a Tesla owners forum about brake rotor conditioning:

"To properly bed your brakes, perform a series of up to 10 60 mph to 10 mph stops where you are braking as hard as possible. Your brakes will be EXTREMELY hot after this and if they've never been bedded in before, they very likely will be smoking when you're done. DO NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT ANY TIME! If you come to a complete stop this will result in uneven pad deposits which can lead to "warped" rotors. Drive around normally for 10-15 minutes avoiding any complete stops to let the brakes cool off. The dedicated will repeat this another time!"

May give that a go, no idea where to do it where it'll be safe though. Maybe a late night on a dual carriageway, making sure noboy else is around! Fnarr. :)

Cheers mate will give this a go as at the same time sounds like a lot of fun, as for the people passing on the other side, they may think I'm drunk or just lost the plot lol

I have the same issue. Could also be related to hand brake / hand brake cable sticking.

It also mentioned not to put the handbrake on until they're properly cooled down to prevent rotor warping. Of course this could all be specific to the Tesla braking system! I've no idea.

I never really put brakes on tight always only on the first bite and leave it in gear! Reckon warping will be after real serious braking but also a good one for anyone to bare in mind! :) also the handbrake they have played with so in theory with them doing back brakes it should be fine I think! And yeah if there is a good safe place to be it is behind the wheel of an audi ;)
