S3 Colours - Pics of each option??

Porsche Sport Classic Grey on an S3 Saloon:

£2,500 for a non-metallic/pearlescent paint seems a bit steep...?? More importantly, why are those wheels not available in the UK?!

Where did you find those pics? Do you have a link? :icon thumright:

I am starting to question whether it would be lost on an S3 Sportback, an RS4 and the 911 where you have long swathes of bodywork are a different matter. Suzuka Grey is probably its nearest hue, is £500 cheaper and is pearlescent to boot.

I really like Imola Yellow, although whenever I run it past people all I get is :puke2: and "thats chavvy!"

Kingfisher Blue is another marmite one, but I personally love this:

Kingfisher Blue is very nice 2low4u!

Another one that gets my vote !

I was torn between Sepang and Mica Racing Blue.

I went for Sepang but that was before they discontinued Estoril and Sepang became more mainstream. Gutted.

Point I am making is - have a look at Mica Racing Blue. It's still exclusive, now that Sepang erm...isn't.

There's no denying that is a beautiful colour, however in grubby North Wales it would be a complete b*tch to keep clean and swirl mark free!

If I had the money I'd seriously look at Audi Tango Red from the mk3 TTS

They're from motortalk.de. In the A3 8V section they have an S3 photo thread...takes a while to sift through though.

Kingfisher Blue is gorgeous in the flesh. They had an approved used one at Aberdeen Audi recently...absolutely stunning! Photos really don't do it justice.

Gulp  £2.5k for flat paint. Got to be an enthusiast to spend that sort of money on a solid paint finish IMHO

Been saying this for ages :banghead:

I know Bristle...I'm on the verge of complaining to Audi UK!! Not that I should be in the market for a replacement...

Im going round in circles! my order gets locked in tomorrow and no changes are allowed with exclusive colours. I'll be honest I was very smitten with the Kingfisher demo I had for a day, it looks great with the black pack.

Just to make it a bit harder 4u! ;)

The Aberdeen Audi approved used one:

What's the Skoda Nardo-esque Grey? At least that's still in the VAG family.

Damn paint thread. Now thinking PSC Grey is too light. Simple google search for Nardo Grey and that sublime RS6 and 7 come up. Big cars though, carry off the paint well.

Skoda Steel grey - does look very similar to PSC Grey indeed! Ive convinced myself that spending 2.5k on a non metallic colour is a bit silly now, despite my initial enthusiasm.

Suzuka grey is actually a few bases layer of white with a top coat of pink/blue pearl, a little like Oryx white (VW). I do like this but every other Audi you see is white.

Kingfisher is a lovely colour, but then I'm also thinking that if you're going for blue on an S product AND spending 2k on it, it should be classic Quattro gmbH colour like Nogaro.

I wish I wasn't so indecisive.

I was the same when ordering my 8P. I'd had Ibis, wanted Grey, but you could only spec Monsoon without going Exclusive and in some lights it was Green! No offensive to all shades of Green lovers intended.

I finally picked Sprint as it was only a S colour, but if I'm honest, I never really took to it. I won't have another Blue car, of any shade as a result.

Everyone will probably have a story about a colour, love, hate, superstition. End of the day it's down to the individual, and their money!

Ach, go with Silver, looks great in any light!

Im not convinced that image I posted of the S3 SB is actually Kingfisher, google images of Kingfisher paints a different picture.

This is Malibu Blue:

Suzuka for me.
Went to see a RS4 in Suzuka at Aberdeen Audi before I locked my paint selection in.
It was sat outside on a dull, rainy day and the colour looked blue/grey. Sunnier days it's almost grey/white.
Great colour with huge depth.
Perfect for black pack too (and panoramic as in the above pic).

My order was Sepang originally, but saw a Suzuka and a Sepang that day and there was only one winner and my order was changed.

I must say I want sepang BUT there's loads been ordered in sepang and tbh I want something abit rarer! I'm quite liking the grey is it monsoon or Daytona that's available?

Daytona. Monsoon is lighter and has a Green tinge to it. Daytona is superb.

Both are available on the S3. That's Monsoon in your pic. Lovely colour...but then I'm biased. Slightly lighter than Daytona and I prefer metallic to pearlescent. Can look dull, but then no colour looks good 100% of the time. All very subjective obviously.

He didn't call me back to confirm and I've been out of signal most of the day, which is good as I'm still undecided.. :keule:

Do you think Audi UK would be able to confirm the paint of the car if I gave them the reg number?

If it has exclusive paint, that is all they get back on the computer from the Reg number (Exclusive) I am lead to believe. So, if that is correct then no.

Unless it's the lighting but I'm pretty damn sure that is NOT kingfisher blue

Guys, I've bottled it.

Going to look at an '07 RS4 avant very shortly, if it's right, it'll get bought. I'm more comfortable with something liquid that I 100% own rather than getting saddled with a PCP deal. Should I or the business need a cash injection then It'll be sold with minimal loss, the same won't be the case with a new S3 with 9k of options!!

Thanks for all your input, its been a pleasure.

Any joy with getting your deposit back mate?

Good luck with the RS4

Wonder if Audi would let you spec. their magnetic blue colour from the A3 Clubsport Quattro as part of a custom colour  :D

Deposit returned no quibbles or anything, just appeared in my bank today :)

In other news I purchased a Daytona grey RS4 avant today with 59k on the clock, the best bit was it was from a dealer just down the road from me! full Audi service history and has just had £1300 spent on it at Unit 20. I collect on Thursday, big grin tonight!
