Hi all, would just like to know if anyone else has/ is experiencing the same or similar issues. It happens between gear changes. The rev just seem to linger a tad too long for my liking and cant for the life of me think what could be wrong....
Doesn't come up with anything on vcds.

Mine does the same but only when im pushing it hard. I put it down to the rev counter can't keep up. No errors when i scan it either. I wouldn't worry about it matey.

I know what you mean sometimes the revs don't want to drop off meaning a fast gear change Is a bit snatchy as the engines going to fast for wheel speed , only happens when I'm pushing very hard not come up with any reasons for it though

clutch switch

Mine does it even when I'm driving like a granny lol. I had thought maf sensor. I did a bit on a merc that had a similar problem and a new maf sorted it, but couldn't work out why...

Back when I had my 09 manual S3, I had a Viezu map, briefly - so sh1t I cannot explain!

With this map it did exactly this. Even gave them a chance to rectify it. They couldn't.

As soon as I removed it, it was perfect again.

Just check all is good in that dept.

Well at the moment i have put the live map off for the time being as I want all of the fundamentals spot on before I mess around with a map. So it's standard at present

Mine does the same but , as mentioned , only when I boot it , as far as I know my car is standard , it's a 3.2 sport .

mine has a map of some description on it , not sure who's or to what stage but it made 350hp just bone stock parts on a rr day , some times on a cold morning i can get the feeling of no boost and dv valve makes fluttering noise as well so i think its a pants map all to be sorted shortly or get a new car !

Hmm, Interested if anyone finds the cause of this. I have the same, thought it was an inlet air leak or similar. Took it to the garage and had a smoke test done, did turn out that my PCV was duff but no other leaks. PCV replaced but this still happens so still searching for an answer.
I can add to the other comments in that mine almost always does it and if i rev at a standstill (engine hot and in neutral) it just holds the revs a few moments

clutch switch

What's that?

Mine does the same, but fairly rarely.
I've also noticed on cold start-up that sometimes the engine revs beyond what I've asked it to, like I've been holding the pedal down longer / further than I actually have.

Replaced the PCV valve it but still does it...

clutch switch

But can that really be the case even when it does it in neutral and I'm nowhere near the clutch? Have to bare with my ignorance unfortunately I am an amateur.

that was in answer to the OP he didn't say it happened in netural

Mine does it in neutral as well. I have the revo pcv delete fitted. I don't know how it would make a difference but does anyone have a bov fitted? Perhaps they do generally linger due to boost?!? Wild guess
