Has anyone ever experienced clutch judder on pulling away? Mine does it at times but not all the time. When it does it's quite bad. Got it in next week but bet it don't do it that day!!!

Hi mate..

I've just got mine booked in for the same thing, does it every now and then on pull off. almost like part of the clutch is missing at the biting point and you get a lurchy type of judder.. worth having a read of this LINKY

Thanks for the link mark. Mine is a 2010 what's yours? How often does it do it?

I just had my Clutch and DMF replaced yesterday. Mine was juddering intermittently on pulling away but nothing drastic, but was slipping more intermittently in higher gears. Turned out my DMF was shot. There was alot of play in it which was causing the entire lot to slip. The clutch disc wasnt even worn that much.

It's a 2010 . It doesn't do it all the time . It's under certain pull always and powers . I normally get it off the drive as it dips down in to the road then pull off is up hill. To start with I thought it was engine but I started getting it in reverse and a slight slip/judder in 2nd

Mine was really bad last week. Made the whole car shudder. But it only does it bits today.

It's a common fault on these it's the dmf for sure mine did it a little bit so I got it replaced, it sorted it out anyway, £800 all in is the cost you should be looking at. Mine was on 40k when it started but I've heard of cars doing it with as little as 27k

hi all
ive not had the judder, but a rare slip, maybe once every couple of months if not longer, started about 32k, been quoted £760 for a new clutch from Audi, but im guessing that wont cover the DMF

My car is under warranty. I've only had it 3 months. What happens there??

Take it back and demand they sort it, make out like you know it's a common fault on these flywheels and they should sort it for you.

If it's only 3 months old I'd take it back and tell them it's not fit for purpose, if you've owned it 3 months but it's a second hand car with warranty then I reckon they'll claim wear n tear n you'll have to agree to pay for the work to be done and then try to claim it back

It is used approved. See what happens. I think I read somewhere that a sold vehicle should be fit for purpose without any wear and tear apart from serviceable items for a min of six months.

Car is in. Judder marks on flywheel and clutch plate. Think it's been caused by loose fingers. Not driver error. Waiting to see if it's warranty or not. £1600!!

If your car is a 2010 and Audi are replacing the clutch it should only be £760 as it's over 3 years old
If there replacing the DMF I'm
Not sure of the price

Wow that's a lot of money as said I paid £800 for clutch and flywheel and fitting, also if it was to be co weed under warranty I still would have been paid as the are a vag specialist which when I phoned to see if it was warranted they said I could have the work done elsewhere it would just have to be assessed by somebody, it saved me £800 by doing it that way.

Audi won't cover this under warranty. Nothing a driver could do to cause this. It's caused by 'weak fingers on the pressure plate causing in even alignment on drive up'

what now???

Surely if the car is under warranty then this should be covered. Quote the sale of good act mate. Car has been constant problem with Clutch judder since purchase and state if it is not fixed under warranty you will be returning for refund...

I did mention it on here in July. I mentioned that to them. Wear side Audi argued my case with warranty, as did York where I bought the car. It's getting paid for by warranty but not the friction plate, York have footed that bill :)).

That's great news :audibash:, maybe I should have argued a little more on mine, nows the time to buy an uprated clutch then

Just gonna stick with stock gear. Brand new with 2 year warranty! Remap could be a plan. My car is 170 so should feel the difference!!

Warranty won't cover your clutch if it's been mapped though but on the other hand an uprated clutch from the right people will do as it will be rated for the power you are going to be putting through it, for the sake of £80-100 more I would definitely recommend but it ain't my money so it's easy to say that lol

My 2010 car has the flywheel judder again and it's only had new clutch and flywheel fitted at audi 18 months ago!

I'm just trying to preserve mine as best as I can pulling away slowing when it's cold seems to help.

Got the car back yesterday. Feels good. Nice smooth gear change. Might get that map now! Dtuk.....hmmmmmm

Did you not get 2 years parts and labour guarantee?

I don't know mate It was previous owner but I've got the paperwork.

I find they judder mostly when it's wet or cold. I find if I pull away from a handbrake stop rather than a foot brake stop it helps as you can pull away less suddenly and slip the clutch a little bit.

Mine is only covered for the remainder as it was warranty work. Understandable. Might look at extended warranty tho. But see the cost, what's covered and what's not. Has anyone ever bought an extended warranty?
