Hello,

Finally got round to do some vag com logging (from old post). I've attached .csv files that are zipped which consists of blocks 002, 020, 115 and 003, 020, 118.

Would it be possible to get some feedback on these please?

Thanks.

would it be possible to post the data in [ t ag ] form...

I am probably not alone in not wanting to click on anyones .zip files.. (no offence)

1.3bar request and only 1-1.1bar actual but N75 duty cycle is'nt maxing out....

Odd. Load max % does'nt get that high...

sustained timing pull. What fuels in it?

What maps on it, and what do you find wrong with the car etc? (edit, revo in your siggy?)

I use 98 ron fuel, and its Revo stage 1.

I'm trying to figure out why my car doesn't pull like it used to.
Few months ago, I overtook a learner drive, down shifted to 2nd gear and accelerated. The car pulled very hard which I was not expecting. Since then, for about a month, it was accelerating quickly even at normal driving, even before 2.5k revs. It's a bit difficult to explain. Now it seems like its reverted back, not as fast.

do you have and SPS to check/adjust its settings?
what looks odd to me is the requested boost is'nt being met but the N75% does'nt look to be trying to max out to achieve it either..

weird

If SPS is Serial Port Switch, then I don't have that. What should the requested boost be, and what percent should the N75 max out at?

Also, how is Timing Retardation for the four cylinders calculated, considering only one cam shaft near inlet manifold varies the advance/****** angle via the timing chain tensioner?

- my car is weird, it decides where and when to apply power!

Its ignition timing not cam timing...

Timing retardation is calculated based on several factors... knock sensors, air temp, AFR, EGT's etc...

The advance you have logged is ignition advance, and timing correction from knock sensor intervention
VVT is something else.. block 092 etc

Your SPS settings on your revo determin what its going to ask for. Your logs on 115 show the request... the 118 shows actual ands N75% duty cycle... Normally, if turbo is physically incapable of achieving the requested boost, the N75% on block 118 would go to its max 95-100%..... Yours does not, whilst Still Not achieving requested boost. Thats what looks odd to me.

Do you think that the N75 is worn out, and may be on its way out?

I have noticed a slight crack on one of the vacuum hoses (the one that says 'Split here' near 06A-133-789 in http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-forum-8l-chassis/171914-vacume-brake-booster.html post). Also, the solenoid that’s on the cam chain tension, the connecting bit seems to fill with oil, and plus it can be rotated around. Which doesn’t seem correct to me! Don’t know if any of these could contribute to what you’re seeing in the output data.

FYI, I done the N249 bypass, and have Forge DV007 (blue spring) which is constantly serviced.

I've been doing some data logging again, after removing the lower vacuum pipes beneath the inlet manifold. I've compared my values with some of the forum users that have an Audi S3 2002 BAM Revo 1, and my values look pretty poor. The torque from standstill acceleration seems poor, boost seems pathetic - would be nice if someone can correct me on this and provide possible solutions as to where my power loss is occurring.

I've logged 002, 003, 020, 115 and 118, that's available in the attached text file. Download and open it in Notepad or similar, to check the contents & ensure it's not a dodgy file. Rename from .txt to .csv and open in Excel for better formatting.

208 bhp ish, try loggoing 2000rpm third gear and floor it to the limiter you will get past 70mph so private road

WHY would you take the vacume pipe of the manifold?

Yes, the middle pipe from the inlet manifold has been blocked off; the side connects directly to the brake servo; two small pipes connect to recirculation valve and fuel pressure regulator. Note, before I did this modification, I've been suffering from lack of boost and torque for the last few years.

Not sure if anyone watches Wheeler Dealers, but they had a Saab 93 Turbo. They had used a TEXA OBD Log device to analyses and diagnose a boost issue at ~70mph. Eventually it turned out to be a damaged turbo, however they didn't actually say what normality they were looking for from the logs they got. I thought, if I can provide data logs, someone can analyse them and suggest possibilities to the cause of my issue.
