Ok guys after a couple of things for help I'm looking at changing my steering wheel to a newer b7/8 one and wondered if anyone has done it and also with the key fobs looking at updating to a b7 style one question is has anyone done anything like this before if so how easy was it

@NHN might be able to help with the key fob

As for the steering wheel,it can't be done but I wouldn't as the b6 is a single phase airbag whilst the b7 onwards is a 2 phase one, (I'm sure someone has more Info)
But basically it doesn't allow the airbag to go off so you're screwed if your in an unfortunate Situation.
 
Right ok then buddy I'm after something that looks half decent as the one I have in there is just plain so what would u recommend a sline one or summit ? Just to bump it up abit

I have the standard 4 spoke which I couldn't care less about tbh

If I had RNSE (audi multimedia stereo) then I would like the multi function steering to match.
But yeah if you can find a good spec b6 that's breaking, get the wheel.
If yours dosent have steering wheel controls but the new one does it will needed to be coded via vagcom.

I have done the key upgrade to B7 ones, i'll try and dig out the guide i used for you.
 
Cheers mate do u know if I can use the same blade or do I have to get a new one cut ? Cheers for your help buddy
 
You will need a new blade, i used a company called " keys in the post" and they do it from a picture of your old blade but on a new blade as the B7 one is shorter.On a separate note how old is your car? Mine us a 02 plate and i needed a different ccm as the new keys will not code to a early CCM.
 
I'll try and dig up the old thread for you to have a read of, i believe it is only early 02 models that can cause issues.
