RNS-e mk2 latest software

Yeah had bluetooth all that works as should with mfsw, dis and comes up on nav with phone sds screen when you say help just not the rest of sds

but if you havent rewired the mic into the rnse it wont work as the rnse takes control of the voice commands

No still not sorted no sds menu in nav still so non existant still same menu screen as before and as soon as i code everything to rns-e ptt button does nothing

SDS is the talk button.

Technically yes but the talk button allows the Bluetooth module to listen to your commands and send them through to the RNSe. This has the SDS (Speech Dialogue System) that is part of the RNSe firmware and allows the unit to interpret you commands..........I think :)

Do you have phone voice commands or commands for whole nav unit if you have full sds 220 not really any different but you lose video in motion with 220 iv read

You have commands for the whole unit including phone and there is also a hack out there for the VIM so you can enable that again :)

Very impressed you guys (or some of you) have got this hack to work on a 193G. I was led to believe that there was an eprom mod required to do this on the 193G unlike the 193B and 193H (not 100% on those letters) which have the correct eproms but hey, happy days if it's not!

  • Is it mandatory to do the Antenna fix? IE does the antenna fault code stop the hack from working?
  • Is it mandatory to rewire the mic for the hack to work or at least for the SDS option to appear in the unit?
I'm loathe to spend time on the mic fix before doing the hack in case I end up like poor Dave@remaps!

I cant get hack to work on my 193g company i brought mine from said the had to do something with eprom to enable it so give up with it lol i just use steering controls or the actual stereo to change things my phone works on it so thats all i really need

Dave, Im in the same boat as you.

Ive downloaded the 150 & 220 software and downgraded/upgraded about 10 times and never does the menu say SDS! So frustrating as I can see the SDS file within the ISO image burned onto the CD. My RNSe is a G version from a SEAT Exeo, I decided I wanted the upgrade without the gloss and chrome buttons so did a fascia swap on one of those, but its the same unit as the one in the A3 2010 models.

Id love to have the SDS work but it just doesn't seem to load onto the system when I do the 220 upgrade.

Agghh...!!!!!!

Yes I understand the mic requirements and its primed to be swapped to feed into the RNSE once the software update includes the SDS!

Unfortunately there's no point doing it until the software updates are done to show SDS in the settings menu. Or at least that's my understanding of it.

Yep that was my question too. Is the firmware upgrade really that smart that it checks for the mic hardware? I imagine it's possible that it checks for the coding of the hardwired mic so maybe just need to make sure the mic is coded in before the upgrade?

No it can update then you can wire the mike

I paid £130 for the info to do this but it can be done with the down grade and upgrade

Do the dvds you have have the right software on them ??

I've used the software linked on this thread. It's does the down/upgrade just fine, using the linked software burned as ISO image. Just no sds option in the setting menu.

Mark cls you're a top bloke for sharing this info the forum, really appreciate it! This what forums are all about, sharing the knowledge. I have downloaded the two ISO files which are linked in earlier posts and burnt them at the slowest speed (x6) I can with my software.I'll be giving it a go soon.

As i said i bought this and the dvds so dont know if the ones on the link work
but it can be done on the rnse 193G unit

This is how i did mine but not sure about your dvds i can supply these pm me

Audi SDS

You will need to use VCDS to enable software downgrade, if you have an earlier DVD Map this can be used to downgrade the SW first (otherwise use the SW200 disc. With VCDS go to 37 Navigation, then Adaptation, then Channel 97 (Software Downgrade), Enter New Value as a 1, then Save.

Now exit the controller and insert the SW200 disc, once the update is finished, the Nav will turn itself off. (usually less than 10 minutes).

Now go back to channel 97 and make sure it is a 0 again, and SAVE,

now insert the disc labelled SDS SW220.

Once the update is complete you will see the Speech Dialogue menu in the CAR, SETTINGS Menu. This will need to be changed to English. You will also need to re-code the Bluetooth module to disable the basic speech dialogue. (usually 0011202).

Yeah the software is all good in the files just doesnt appear on nav settings. It doesnt matter when you wire the mic up menu should still be there. The software in the links have been used by many people with success. Although it hasnt worked on my 193g i think it depends on how late or early the model is. also that there are a few companys that make them for audi so although they all do the same and have same software theres variation in eproms and chips as used worldwide

It apears mine cant be done with software update but can be done with firmware by company i brought it from i think it also depends on where/country unit was originally made i can get mine done for 50 quid by them but cant be bothered to wait for something il hardly use my phone sds works all the other stuff can be controlled by steering wheel

Just tried the SDS hack with the ISO's linked earlier in this thread and no luck. It went through the motions and now reads v220. My RNS-E 193G is HW version H06.

Yep same as mine and mine doesnt work either

Yep retrofit. Your hardware is a later revision is it not? Your earlier screen shot says H07.
Yeah mine is h07 but goes through all the updates and that crap but still not there where did you buy your nav from

Hi all,
Apologies to revive this thread!
Did anyone with issues have any luck with this in this end?
I've followed all the steps and downgrade and upgrade appear to work fine as have status bar and then non status bar updates as mentioned however cannot get the sds section in the setup menu.
Unit is h06 193 G, mic is rewired and phone sds works fine through it as a test.
Issues I have:
-Fault code for voice control module (j507)
-Can't change language to 1 - English. Stuck on 0 - German
-PTT button cannot be used when change coding as needed to deactivate through Bluetooth module
Any help is appreciated :)

This is how I did mine:

After following the steps downgrade/upgrade and got stuck in adaptation voice control 0 German as lasermate, Dave , B120wny and many others. I downloaded cd’s from a audipt.com forums and checked against the ones on the link above I noticed cd 220 sw had a bigger SDS/SML folder.

I completed all the steps of the downgrade/upgrade. Although I still got stuck in 37 navigation adaptation on 0 German, once I checked my setup settings: Voila!!!

Hello guys,

i have a question for this sds update, i dont have the VCDS software but the alternative "Carport" software, the problem here is, the channels had no descriptions so you have to know the right channelnumber. so i want to try to update the SDS, i need some informations from you guys , see marks in red:

2. Enter the 37 Navigation Unit 10 > > Adaptation
-Channel (Cd Extraction) > and set the value then Remove your DVD Test Maps and then Save
which channel number is this - and what did this do ? simply put out the Navigation maps DVD ?
-97 Forced Downgrade > Channel and set the value 1 and then Save
Channel 97 should be clear in this case
-Reset > Channel and set the value and then Save
which Channel is ist ? some google investigations shows me "111" is it correct ?

10. Enter 37 Navigation Unit 10 > > Adaptation
-Voice Control > Channel and set the 3 Test Value and then Save
Which Channel is this and what test values i have to set ?
-Reset > Channel and set the value and then Save
same as above :)

many many thanks :)
