Hi everyone, haven't been on here in a while as been so busy with work and hardly being home. Hope everyone is well.

Ok, I've been having a little trouble of lately with my car. Seems I've got an oil leak which I can't for the love of me find out where, I will have to take it somewhere to get it checked over. Sometimes when I go to start the car, it won't start - it just kind of ticks over. The noise is pretty hard to describe, I'll have to get a video of it when I get a chance but it sort of makes a repeated ticking noise and all the dash lights just flash. Does this maybe once or twice and then it'll start, sometimes the ESP and steering light will be on but go out after a minute.

Plugged it in today and had a scan, log came back with these faults...

Has anybody had these faults before? Or maybe the ticking noise I described? (Well, kind of)

If anybody has had these faults before, what needs changing and is it a DIY job?

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated, i've checked the codes on RossTech site but wanted to know if anybody here had experienced the same problems.

Sorry for the long winded post, thanks.

I have a fuel pump circuit malfunction too at the moment, i ended up buying another fuel pump and control module , installed them but didnt fix anything but my problem is different to yours. If you need fuel pump or control module when you find out whats up, let me know

Thanks for the reply, I'm struggling to find out what exactly is the problem at the moment though.

Have you checked battery voltage, charge etc?

I've not to be honest, I've been away from home a lot so not really had chance to do much. You think it could be a battery problem?

Thanks

If your battery is dying low on voltage then it can throw all sorts of codes up and yes your car will just tick tick as it's turning over because obviously not enough voltage to fire the car. Another thing is the esp light coming up this normally happens with a dead battery or just after you've changed the battery but will go off after a few hundred yards of driving.

It's worth checking before you start spending £££'s.

Hope it helps mate

Thanks mate, appreciate that. That sounds like the faults I'm experiencing, maybe it is the battery. I'll definitely check that when I'm next home, thanks again.

Hi mate, seems battery was on its way out. Fitted a new battery and ESP light has gone now and hasn't come back on, also it starts first time with no problems so far (fingers crossed). Thanks again.

Scanned after changing battery and getting this now...

1 Fault Found:
005634 - Power Supply Terminal 40
P1602 - 002 - Voltage too Low - Intermittent

I'm guessing this is due to the fact the battery was swapped out and isn't a problem?

Also I'm still getting this fault...

1 Fault Found:
00493 - ESP-Sensor Unti (G419)
014 - Defective - Intermittent

Has anybody come across this before?

Thanks

I would've thought the faults are there because of changing battery over, you need these clearing with vcds. Once the codes are cleared they won't appear again. Glad it's sorted mate
