Does anyone here know this S3?

How is it obviously remapped as 265bhp is standard on these and having a 300 badge on it doesnt mean anything. Most Stage 1 remaps are 310/315bhp This looks like a low mileage standard car to me as its still got standard exhaust fitted and ride height looks normal and no other mods standing out. Nice car though and quite rare in Sepang Blue

Yes, I am making an assumption aboit it being mapped, at least in the past. It does seem to have uprated front brakes according to the trader. He compared to other S3s they have in stock and said that they are much bigger than standard. I guess I was hoping that someone here knows about this car as it does seem to have been owned by an enthusiast of some sort.

I agree about the color! One of the things that caught my eye.

The brakes, discs anyway, look standard (for a S3) to me.

Are they comparing A3 brakes to S3 brakes? In which case the S3 brakes will be much bigger naturally...

Edit: Marshy beat me to it lol!

Nice, I guess the guy really doesn't know about these cars then.

I've driven an early 8P and a TTS a few years ago and really liked how they felt on the road. I hope its as described - will be a fun trip back to London if it is :)

Im always weary about buying a car from a dealer who hasn't got a clue, seems cheap though compared to other low milage 09 autos I've seen, especially in sport back!

Yeah, hopefully the place does not resemble Swiss Tony's garage

i could be wrong but the shark fin doesn't look original. My one looks way different...

Shark fin not right but the car looks great, love the colour. Are you taking VCDS with you to do a quick scan before parting with your hard earned cash? If it chucks up any errors it give extra bargaining power!

So, this happened today:

She got quite a few opportunities to stretch her legs on the M6 toll and M40 today while we travelled from Manchester to West London.

The front disks are definitely not standard and so are the front pads. Looking at the documentation, she's been to Prosport in Stockport on a number of occasions for servicing. I can only assume that the engine has been mapped as there is no paperwork to show this being done.

In any case, first mod is to get some decent suspension after the next bonus payday - the current standard setup is a little meh :)

Phone Prosport and ask them, they'll have a record of work done to the car. You need to know what mods have been made so you can insure it correctly ;-)

Looks very nice, hope you were able to do a bit of a deal on it!

Thanks! I traded in my old B6 A4 as part of the deal and felt good about it on balance. I'm sure that I could have spent more time trying to sell my old car privately, but in the end, I just did not have the time or patience for it.

The pads look like red stuff pads which I think are garbage if they are mate, had them on my other S3 and would never use them again. Love the colour of the car looks tidy enjoy it

Yeah, I do mean to look into anything that looks non-standard and re-evaluate. I used Ferodo DS<something> when I had my 8L S3 four years ago with good results and never tried EBC pads personally... Still, the brakes seem to work better than any car I've owned before without any of the brake fade or squeal so far. Will see how it goes. I don't fancy shelling out on replacing them straight away, especially as they seem to have more than 80% of life left in them. The standard rear pads and disks will need replacing soon though, so that will likely be the first thing I will look at.... That and the ****** stickers and all the extra logos stuck all over that amazing body and will be eliminated very soon.

The single previous owner seemed to look after it very well. I can't find a single flaw in the bodywork. Given its age, I expected at least some stone chips, but all the vulnerable areas are covered in what looks like M3 VentureShield, which is doing a very good job so far.

I took it out around some local country roads earlier today and boy did I have a grin on my face! There's plenty of shove with all sorts of funky intake and exhaust noises which accompany the fast pedal... I would go as far as saying that I'm in love with a S3 again  (Just don't tell Mrs leshkin! )

That was a reflex action every time I used to get into the old S3. Forgot to do it on this one until the dash lit up to remind me

Spoke to Prosport today and found out that the car had a stg1 REVO map done a couple of years ago, which explains why it feels more eager than a standard S3.
