Prawn and BigAls A3 Track Car

Easiest way just don't take passengers lol. I saved loads of weight in the Mrs' car on our track day just by taking her 4 million key rings off

Toooooo quiet.... Worried what he is going to come back with

As in STD? Or what?

Not sure his wife would be too keen on that one, seeing as he's on his honey moon

ADI next weekend :)

Who's coming?

People I've got down for a passenger ride assuming all goes to plan:

Daz
Jojo
Robin
Paul A
Jamie (007 man)

I've almost certainly forgotten someone, it's a rare day when Dads unfortunately not able to come, so I may well have a free passenger seat a few times during the day if anyone has a helmet with them and fancies a ride. I tend not to venture out on track on my own ever, I much prefer sharing the fun with someone else!

I wonder how much faster it'd be without a passenger? I may have to try a single session alone to see how different it is :)

Genuine question- is anyone heading to ADI next weekend from Hampshire? Or passing through anywhere near Basingstoke?

I could do with a set of wheels being taken to ADI that I can't fit in, in exchange for a session as passenger around the track!

Xxx

looking forward to adi!!!!!
back in uk weds
so only 2 working days for me!!!!

Drove this 60 miles today in the pouring rain moving various wheels and tyres between garages.

Even cruising up the m3 in the rain, I love it. Just feels special driving around, seeing the cage in the rear view mirror, splitter hitting the ground around town.

REALLY excited about ADI now :) fresh slicks mounted care of Lewis (vagslag), car is running well.

Just got to charge the cameras, and find a way of getting my wets there too!

Before the weekend

Its October. Adi is typically a wet AND dry day, just like Bill had today at Combe.

I've not been able to try my wets in the wet yet, and I sure as he'll don't want to be out in the dry on semis when I should be on slicks!

I can JUST get 8 wheels n tyres in the car, but it doesn't leave any room for any tools / spares / jacks. Load the 'track day kit' and 4 wheels n tyres, and I can't get the wets in as well :(

Sorry for the massive off topic, but you sprang to mind today when i was watching this...some epic fabrication skills and plenty CAD.... well worth a watch if you havn't seen Project Binky

Sadly yes mate. We have slicks and wets for track use. But only semis for the road. Not ideal, but then, the Dunlops worked very well in the wet at spa last year.

I don't think we will bother with more semis as we much prefer slicks for track work, so I think the next set of road legal tyres we will buy will be more 'all round' orientated.

Mark - I've seen the binky mini / gt4 before. Its brilliant, and the videos are really entertaining too!

Ah fair enough I'm still debating a tyre for all year and debating semi slicks as I read some like the dunlops are actually good in the wet aswell But then thinking bad decision.

The Dunlops are also VERY expensive.
Given how much they cost, I'd be getting some federal RS-r for track AND a set of road tyres for the same money.

slicks kill the cars running gear

:iagree:

Absolutely. They tear bushes apart, increase wear on brakes, and increase strain on drivetrains too!

They are fun though!

See you on Saturday Bill :)

Popped up to blazingsmoke earlier to see dear old Jardo.

Sorted out tyres for ADI whilst I was up there :)

And amazibgly, got all 8 in the back of the fiesta!

A3 is back on SuperT's now for winter, and I fitted a new door latch yesterday so the drivers door now shuts! Woohoo!!!!

Roll on ADI :uk:

Best whip them out for a check:

I reckon I got my value for money from those then!

Filthy, but in great health!

Absolutely fantastic day! Huge thanks to everyone who came out in the car, to a great bunch of mates for hanging around with me all day, and to Bill, Tuffty, and the rest of the team for making me feel very welcome :)

As last year, last session of the day with Bill was a real highlight for me, SO much fun sharing track space with the mighty Ibiza :)

Beer time now. Will write more later.

Nick how come the marshals cannot see tuning cars overtake in braking and corners ?
Do they bypass the induction ?
Noticed it last year and also even more so this year.
@Prawn No slight on you at all my friend
