as above really, going to paint my brake calipers at the weekend and have been told they look a lot better once lacquered. So I'm wondering if I can use just normal clear lacquer or do I need some high temp stuff as they obviously get hot.

Also, how long do I leave the caliper paint to set before a few coats of lacquer?

Cheers!

Good results are had with smooth hammerite, shiny finish and dries quickly.Did all four of mine on the car within 2 hours;)

I have used Hycoat high temp calliper paint in the past for my Evo and RS, then a coat of the High Temp lacquer. Turned out really good!
On the S3 I have just bought some red engine paint (high temp) as it was far cheaper! I gave them around 3/4 coats letting it dry a good 12hrs between. They have turned out really good

Sound decent, going to do mine mid week when I get a free afternoon at home. Gib, you got any pics of your calipers?

I can get some for you and send over, all the prep work is key! the more prep and making sure everything is clean ready to paint will be far easier later. Also give it time to dry between coats, I have a heat lamp (like what sprayers use) which I left on for 30mins to speed up process, but I did it over 3 days in total, prepped all the callipers then went round one by one.

I've done it now mate thanks though. I'm quite pleased with the results! Would stick a picture up but i've forgotten my password for photobucket!
