My S3 Build Thread

Are you planning to get your car on some rollers?

I am running full Miltek TBE and revo intake and really want to see what the car is making on the bluefin stage 2

Will be some time, not sure when though. You only need the HPFP to get to stage 3, really fills in the midrange grunt you don't get with stage 1 or 2.

This is the problem with different software companies and their naming structures.

Revo Stg2+ is equivalent to Shark Stg3 and seemingly also Bluefin Stg3.

Revo Stg3 is big turbo country.

Good map whatever they call it. May look at Revo or similar after I get some miles / experience on this. Like the convenience of the bluefin and it's got me grinning at the mo and that's what it's all about

I really hope the bluefin matches the output of the revo, ideally I want to see some back to back in the rollers.

Think Revo is closer to 360 from all accounts. Blufefin quote
BHP Nm
Standard 265 349
Stage 1 310 +45 387 +38
Stage 2+ 337 +27 433 +46

So far I have felt that the change from Stage 1 to 2+ has felt faster than going stock to Stage 1 and looking at the figures it is the higher change in torque that seems to drive the change. I'm far from an expert on this given that this is my only experience but I would look for the difference in torque over top end BHP figures.

Its definitely midrange torque where the uprated HPFP scores.

dsg only gets stage 1 & 2 with standard clutch pack, its different naming and works well with any other mods regardles of which stage you already on. Say stage 2+ car will still benefit from even stage 1 dsg map (extra torque, better D mode and few other bits).

Like more torque, where's best to get it sorted?

Thought for today......

It was a fun journey to Stage 2+, waiting for parcels and swapping out bits. Each one adding a bit more performance then the final remap goes ind and wallop! It's a different car. First you boot it at every opportunity then after the grin you think, I've got to learn how to drive this thing. It makes such a difference to the way the car performs. Even driving slowly in traffic is enjoyable cos you know that the power is there when you want it.

Smokin slow drivers for fun is so easy. With the DSG.you have to rethink the way you drive. Loving the experience and making the Mrs head snap back, but not so much the backlash.

All I thought about was getting there but not what to do when I got there.

Working out what's next when funds refresh, but mind is on DSG box remap as the standard map isn't great in either drive or sport with the extra power, using manual mostly unless cruising. Handling is still great but the brakes are feeling less confident know so maybe on the list.

Just my thoughts, happy modding

Are you still on the bluefin software mate?

Yeah, they call it stage 3 but it's really 2+, only 50 quid over the stage 1 cost so going with that for a bit. Seems plenty fast enough so not really feeling like spending 400 on a revo or like just yet. They know what they are doing, no probs

Getting cobra exhaust with decat resonated end of month then going to Lvs Racing to fit the HPFP and the revo stage 2+ map :)

Finally got myself a Sprint Blue 2011 Black Edition S3 DSG after my 54 plate V6 Sport. Got a list of mods as long as my arm but as funds allow I'll update.

First mods fitted on first weekend. Bluefin Stage 1 remap done until I go REVO Stage 2+. Thought I ballsed it up but found out they sent the manual map instead of the DSG one. Got it sorted and it makes an instant improvement.

Got the BCS down pipe and sports cat fitted so far, maybe power valve to follow. Bit pricey but top quality and no fitting problems, they come highly recommended.

Quick update - Good day valeting and detailing, fitted the pressed plates as well, ****** to get the screws out and not sure the sticky tape will hold them, soon find out.

Looks brilliant. Nearly perfect colour (after mine) and wheel combination.
