Induction kits what one to get

Looking at buying an induction kit . Has anyone got the pipercross or vwr racing one install and got pictures Thinking about the Apr one as well how ever heard their going to take a while to get in to the Uk

There's is a youtube video of the pipercross induction kit. Type in audi s3 8v induction kit.
 
My Intake of choice is this one and will be delivered on Monday!!!!
APR UK have a few in stock now if your quick.....

Will of course post some pics and a review on Monday night for you guys. I'm hoping it looks as good in the flesh as the APR pics!! Roll on Monday!!
 
If you're going to get one, then I think the APR one looks fabulous.

Sorry to highjack this thread but my APR intake came today and it looks great!! Here's a few pics for you, I'll do a review later in the week as I've only driven round the block so far.........

Ordered the APR one today, should arrive tomorrow

Initial thoughts J6YAK?
 
Looks beautiful Hopefully ordering one at the end of the month need to see a video of it in action and to find out if you have noticed any descents changes

There Is a vid on apr's website but in a Golf R - sounds pretty good
 
Ok as far as looks go it's worth every penny!! I do love a bit Carbon !!
Fitment is "ok" there's a bit of play in the grommet under the unit and the front part just slips into an original plastic part where I expected it to be screwed on but it doesn't move about I don't think, I'll try and get a screw in when I have more time.
Power gains, well it does feel pretty quick anyway with the DTUK box on and I think it's slightly quicker but would you really notice an extra 10/15 bhp probably not! I'd like to get it on the rollers at some point to see what difference it actually makes.
Noise, it's not as loud as I hoped it would be but there is more turbo spool and recirc valve noise, it may sound better from outside but sorry guys I won't have time to make a vid as going on holiday on Fri maybe do one when I'm home again .

@nervus the decal will defo come off

Please please can we get a vid before you go on holiday? I'm recovering at home from an op and need this video for my recovery. Even if it's a basic one on your mobile. WE NEED THIS!!!! Thanks bud.

HaHa I'm sure a vid of my car won't really help your recovery but nice try and hope you get well soon bud!!
But I seriously won't have time what with work and other things to be tied up before I go its not going to happen I'm afraid but I will do one if no one else has by the time I get home.

No probs mate you have a good holiday and I'll be looking for to that vid.
 
I fitted the APR intake today on my S3

A lot better build quality than the Pipercross kit, which I thought was terrible.
Significantly quieter than the Pipercross, I would guesstimate that it's no different soundwise to stock (suits me fine)

As per the Pipercross, I have noticed a much crisper throttle response, and stronger pull in third and fourth gear.

All in all, I am pretty pleased :-D
 
Can't justify the cost of the apr as nice as it looks.
£120ish for what I've put together and it works fine for me.
Hopefully the image works from my phone

Excuse the indent on the front of the filter, was from before I had the aluminium pipe the correct length and it had pressed into the cold air feed

I know it won't be to everyone's taste, personally don't mind the open cone look.
Will be getting a heat shield made at some point in the future but finding out where to attach it is the issue.

Looks slightly neater now as the aluminium pipe has been shortened a bit more to tuck the filter further back

Right we need a video of how it sounds please.
 
The standard intake has the inlet outside the engine compartment if you have a filter drawing air from inside the engine will be down on power because it is drawing in hot air....

While I agree, the standard air feed is still in place and pushing some cold air to the filter.
Like I said earlier, I'm still trying to figure out a heat shield using the standard air feed, proving difficult atm though
 
Any difference is a differenceto me mate
End of the day, I like the sound it makes, big kid and all that ha
 
Much louder in person, and louder again while driving.
Couldn't get one while driving where you could actually hear it
