I've got a list the length of my arm to do to the a4.
But over the last week or so it's been really sluggish, now it does have an oil leak, but I can't imagine that would be causing it.

Also I'm pretty sure the clutch which has only covered 20k is starting to slip.

And I thought could it be the gear box, that hasn't had an oil change at all I believe.

Everything runs fine, it pulls, turbo spools up gone and boost fine, isn't really lumpy expect for you usually 1.9pd noise.

Only thing I can think of is heater plugs, as the head has been fully rebuilt the other month with new vacuum pump, but I do think the oil leak is coming from the vacuum pump, and the oil did smell of diesel but now it doesn't.

This Saturday it's getting 2 new tyres, track rods ends doing, tracking, air con recharge, find oil leak ( and fix hopefully), gearbox oil change, squeaky break sorted, and Anti freeze, might even change the brake fluid and engine mounts.

So any ideas would help, it feels really sluggish going up the gears especially 1st and 2nd, it's like all throttle and no go, once I'm in 3rd it's really torquey and it's pulls like a train. So this is what's making me think it's clutch/gearbox related.

While it's on the ramps all the suspension arms are getting checked, along with the rear suspension stuff.

Cheers Paul

Just haven't been bothered lately to do anything

How's the thumb? Lol

Just finished work and I'm sure the clutch slipped again whilst I put my foot down (in moderation ) in 4th gear, revs went up and then suddenly the car took off, like delayed.

Turbo Is fine though, and I have had other symptoms of clutch slip :( hope it lasts

Jake haven't scanned it, but it's deffo clutch slip. Had it up the garage today.

It's a single mass flywheel which has only covered 20k in 15months. But I'm suspecting it's a cheap ECP single mass conversion kit for £200-£300

I'm proper sick of this car the last few months, first the engine went now the clutch (again)

Just went to change the track rods and the tie rod, the track rod screws into is seized and just spinning the ball joint on the track rod.

So need to pop to ECP tomorrow and get a lemforder tie rod to match the track rods.

A new clutch is about £420 for a Sachs dmf inc vat.

So if I can get it fitted for a good price il be laughing, all this when I'm waiting to sign my Mortage. :( fml

Little update
Started the track rods yesterday and the inner tie rod was siezed.

So popped to ECP today and got one, did both track rod ends in an hour in the street.
I'm going to take for a drive in a few minutes, tracking will be done tomorrow hopefully.

So that's one main job done, the ball joints were so bad they just flapped about, how I drove on that is beyond me.

Next on the list:
Oil leak
Aircon recharged
New clutch
Need a wing Mirror
Il pop a new thermostat too

I'm in 2 minds of doing the heater plugs too

And that's it's the car should be 100% in terms of mechanical

Got a quote on the clutch, £420 from darkside, as ECP don't have a Sachs one, and they don't do the kit.

And someone I know that works in a garage, said he will do it for £100 so £520 in total plus gearbox oil

That's for a Sachs dmf oem replacement.
