Drive Belt - Power Steering Noise

Morning all.
I have had a noise coming from drive belt area on and off for a while, shushing noise, suspect idler.
But now on full lock unless I rev the power steering makes an awful noise on full lock.
I am hoping its just going to be the belt and not the pump? any tests I can do in situ . If it is the belt is worth doing the tensioner and idler at the same time.

I had same issue two years ago and it turned out to be the PAS pump. Had it replaced under warranty. Check fluid isn't low first.

yeah checked the fluid as that was low the other month and made a similar noise.

Sounds as though it could well be your PAS pump in that case.

Not the PAS pump yay yay , got a belt kit inc the tensioner for £58 from here http://www.bmfautoparts.com/engine-parts/Drive-Belts/Audi/A4/all/2.0/2007/Parts.aspx
solved the issue Phew
