Newbie Here....with New S3 Saloon.....

Hi All...

I have been lurking for a while reading all of the useful snippets as I was waiting for my new beast to arrive.

Now that it HAS arrived, I thought it would be rude of me not to post a few piccies....

It has basically got EVERYTHING on it....minus the lane control and auto parking options....if you can't park..don't buy a car like this (is my view!)

You don't have the reverse camera, parking sensors, advance key by the looks of it, but lovely colour!

Thanks.....you are right.....no reverse camera (another of those extraneous novelties!) but I do have the parking plus front and rear and as for the advance key.....no ta....rather keep my car from getting hacked!!
 
Nothing is unhackable, it just depends on how determined someone is when trying to steal your car, but hey.... that's where GAP insurance comes in lol

It was a LOOOOONG 7 month wait for me.....but well worth it! It is epically quick at getting up to the (ahem!) speed limits.....and just such a lovely car to live with. 350 miles in and just smiling every time I get into it! Bang & Olufsen is also fantastic....but kind of turning it down at the moment so that I can hear the snorts from the exhausts!!

I'm having a dilemma about the colour, but everytime I see a sepang blue saloon I don't know why I am :D

Oh & you ain't got a panno roof either ... :lick::laugh:

Sepang is the colour.....in the sun it just SHINES..... and EVERYONE comments on it (in a nice way of course!!)

Panno roof.....pffffffft.......if I wanted girly bits like that....I'd have waited for the convertible......LOL

But thanks for the compliments....I have seen your colour dilemma over a few weeks...... go Sepang....its just stunning.....I have had Misano Audis before and its now just a "normal" Audi colour!

The reversing camera isn't standard equipment over there?

I wonder who decides what is standard, and what are optional across the different markets.

No, it is an option.

I have the camera fitted to my Golf. Also have park assist. Agree the park assist - while it does mostly work - is a bit of a gimmick and rarely used. However, I really do miss the camera when I drive our A3. I am so used to it now. It is definitely an option I would have again. Parking sensors can miss high kerbs that are easily seen on the camera. Though I suppose I could just hang out of the door and have a look.

Love the sepang and having no second thoughts! I think I will be doing the same for some time with the B&O, turn it down to hear the nice pops and roars.

not to rub it in or anything but I am only having to wait three month :jump:
 
That's a great looking car. (nor sure about the colour though :meeting:) I do like the saloon, sedan or what ever its called. Doesn't all that detritus on the key rub on your leg?

Nice car! You'll love your S3 saloon, it's just awesome. At the moment it's a relatively exclusive car on the road. I've seen 3 in the 5 months I've had mine and my dealer hasn't sold any since he sold mine.
