Hi

I have a 2005 A4 cabriotlet 1.8T Quattro.
It had a new turbo fitted just before i bought the car, just over a year ago.

My car is due to go into the garage on tuesday.
It went it a couple week ago before my holiday to be diagnosed.
They said, it needs a new turbo,
said it had got excessivly hot, they can tell by the colour, (not seen it myself yet)
also said when they do the turbo, it would fix the boost leak,
as that is coming from under the turbo when it connects to the manifold.

I spoke to the poeple who supplied the turbo previously,
and they said, turbos are meant to get hot etc.. ( which i understand)
said best to fix the leak first, as that would be making the turbo over spin,
and cause the loss of power.

They over a labour warranty, but wouldnt cover over spinning,
due to a boost leak, or due to the car being mapped.

they also said, i have a k03 turbo, for 150bph, but my cars 162, bph ?
my car has been mapped.
are there any suggestions on
1) if i need to replace the turbo, which turbo to get / would be better?
ive had an s3 before, and that had better power.

2) should i ask the garage to fix the leak first, and see if its ok, or not?
3) is there a way to check the turbo / what the issue might be if removed?
so i know if it needs replacing/to believe the garage etc.., also so i know if
it would be covered under the warranty etc.. too ?

thanks
for any help
