No it's actually a quick detailer. You will always find it sold under quick detailer or wax. It does have a greasy application like a sealant spray but it's instructions says its best used as a wax top up or to enhance shine after a wash or just use as a quick detailer.

Good stuff actually - very good on the S3 wheels I have.

I wouldn't use that after applying wax maybe after a few days but not directly after

I use it after applying sealant. Obviously you wouldn't use it after a wax, more so after a wash or two.

Ti-22 arrived this morning, bilberry wheel wax ordered. Hopefully I'll be able to get the wheels done over the weekend, Scottish weather permitting, and if I've got time I may paint brake callipers while the wheels are off.
I'll post some pics when done Robbie.

Sorry to ask in you thread mate but I have gone down a similar route to yourself with wax for my wheels etc but the have just been refurbished would you wait a certain time for them to harden before completing this process?

Many Thanks Adam

Bilberry wheel wax will be spot on for your wheels adcooper. Alot of people think leaving paint for weeks to harden is a must but in this day and age with modern paint technology I have applied wax and sealant to paint after a week and no adverse reactions.

Cheers mate I guess it's best not to do thou the day I get them back?

Adcooper as well as paint to harden, the clear coat needs time to "gas off" i would leave it a week or so before applying any sealants/wax's on them.

I did spot some one saying they used fairy!!!!!!!!
I would strongly suggest you never use washing up liquid on your wheels (or in your washer bottle) the stuff is full of salt and it WILL attack your wheels and anything else it comes into contact with. Might take a while but would you wash your wheels in brine with some soap in it? Cause that's exactly what you are doing. The salt is there to soften the tap water.

Back to wheel cleaning, key is keeping the wheels clean, even if you have to clean them twice a week. I use Dodo juice wax safe car wash and rim wax.

Yep, me!
Think of the composition of brake dust, it's mainly Iron these days which oxidises and sticks like glue, hence the need or all these other products to dissolve it.

Fairy is not brine, it's salts specifically designed to clean yet be kind to your hands. Don't you watch the TV ads?...!!
If it's good enough for Mrs S' hands then of course it's fine for my wheels.... :D

Besides, they're not soaked for weeks at a time, it's a wash, rinse and dry. Little chance of corrosion.

Probably a question that has been asked many times, but, here we go again.
Alloys are 19 inch Matt Titanium effect rotors, genuine Audi.
How best do I keep these clean and what products do you guys recommend.
Present routine is wash, then clean with Anglewax Revelation, finally 2 coat of poor boys wheel sealant.
After two days wheels seem stained with brake dust, don't do a lot of miles either, staining is a pita to clean, and wheels always look dirty.
HELP!!!
Thanks in advance for any advise.
JG

None of the advice yet has mentioned a fall out remover? This would be the best way to remove brake dust & iron then followed up with a wheel cleaner such as bilberry and finally tar remover.

After which soapy water wash down (you could also clay if you felt the need) dry them off & seal them.

For on-going maintenance washes you would only need soapy water and your wheel woolies, you should not need to be using a wheel cleaner each wash after sealing them.

With regards Fairy liquid, it's a no, salt is added as a thickener & will dry on the surface & if there are any stone chips or scratches it will adhere & start to attack under the clear coat leaving a black 'spider' effect that will spread over time.

Suppose they'd smell nice though! lol.
JG

Soooooooooo WRONG!

I've been using Flash @ 5 to 10% regularly for 20-years and more without issue and ALWAYS keeping my wheels clean :thumbs up:

You'll NEVER know unless you try...

Fall out remover? Best on the market is CarPro IronX IMHO
http://www.carpro.uk.com/iron-x-500ml/

Doesn't half stink tho. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

(I've got a 10% discount code for CarPro Uk if you want to PM me for it :))

I have used iron x & couldn't believe the smell, now available in cherry I know but interested to know if there are any that just don't smell at all?

Finally got round to cleaning my wheels today,
1) Covered them in Angel Wax Revelation, fallout remover, then rinsed with cold water.
2) Gave then a clay with clay mitt, cut this into strips to get to awkward area's.
3) washed with bilberry wheel cleaner, then rinsed.
4) dried with microfiber drying towel.
5) two coats of Angel Wax wheel wax.
6) finally, a light coat of Ti-22, don't know if they needed this but coated anyway.
I'm happy with the results, BIG difference to what they were like.

Not the greatest of pictures as taken on my phone, and don't do the amount of effort I put in justice.:kissmyrings:

Deffo mate, I think because the wheels are off and u can access the inside easier you can see how clean they are.
I was surprised what the clay picked off mine after I'd used fallout and tardis

Excellent job on your wheels JG51 AUD :cool::cool:

Plenty of hard works gone into that finish. I know I've done it before ;)

As Mark says, always sealant under wax. Rule applies to bodywork not just wheels :thumbs up:
