Remapping and Rolling Road Shoot-Out Day @ AMD Essex

Very happy wasn't expecting that. The torque figure is impressive!

And yes thank you Alex for organising it all.

True....better before any big problems.

Good to meet everyone there today it was a nice turnout and plenty of good chat to be had.

S3Alex your car made good figures especially as it dosen't like rolling roads. You can certainly tell it has big power on the road, I was very impressed with it, it pulls like a train.

Alex thanks for organising the day and I hope AMD find your issue for you.

Got to say though Craig's RS6 was mint and as expected was top power on the day.

Good fun as always, even if I had to leave early.

Time for a few ifs and buts....

Here's my two runs, which were virtually identical.

The car clearly pulls back load after 5500rpm,and torque had peaked by around 5600rpm.
On the good side, all the curves were nice and smooth(!),but it wouldn't hold more than 2bar on the rollers, which is what we've found before, and here's the "if".....

If it had loaded up properly, and held 430lbs,even at 2 bar, that equates to 530bhp

And the "but"......but it didn't hook up properly.

I still think when we overlay crazyleg's traces with mine, that the midrange will overlap very nicely, and for anyone looking for a big turbo kit now,the APR kit has to be the one.

I didn't see Craig's car run,but what a lovely noise....I could listen to that all day...LOL

Thanks Alex for organising this, I definitely enjoyed the day and I'm sure everyone else did too. It was great meeting you all, definitely a friendly bunch! I remember the names of most but not all of the people that I met today, I guess I got carried away talking about your cars! I didn't get a chance to talk to everyone, so apologies!

For those of you I didn't get to meet (and for those that forgot my name or because I didn't introduce myself properly) I'm Dominic and I was in the Akoya Silver A3 TDI. I must say I'm pretty pleased with the power output of mine, it managed 149.5bhp, decent for a standard car.

I normally take loads of photos and videos at meets like this, but today I started taking photos sort of mid-way after people had left so not a lot of photos, but got a few good ones! Enjoy!

I didn't take one of my own car, so took one later whilst the sun was out!

Oh, I look that is normal to get higher results on 140hp engine :) Because I got 114kW (around 153hp) when it was totally stock.

Hi there guys, was great to meet everyone today and was an execelent day out,and nice to see some cars run on the dyno and have some food :) Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting/dyno day. Thanks to Alex for sorting out a good day,I hope u get your car figures sorted out buddy. Thank u for kind words on my rs6,she made 557.7 bhp and 515.9 torque, the guys said a simple map will make her 700 bhp :) Very tempted.

Haha I can imagine there was mate! I'm definitely up for the next one - unfortunately already had plans for this weekend!

Would have been useful to see what it was doing before it goes in for its stage2+ - you pleased with your results?

What settings are you running?
I believe it's stage 2 revo. Has billet blade hybrid turbo so max bhp is late on just below 7200 rpm. They told me is lacked urgency. Has all hard ware. Cooler, induction etc to run a very good stage 2 + car :( Also took 20 secs to reach limit. As I see with a lot of yours it took 16 secs?

Morning!

It was really nice meeting up with you all yesterday.

Alex Will, thanks very much for arranging this; it was great to get the chance to meet some other Audi enthusiasts - and definitely keep us all posted with your power issue. Fingers crossed it's something simple and gets remedied quickly...

My car performed as expected, 371hp & 368hp with torque at around the 340'ish mark. I'll be sure to upload my dyno at some point this week.

S3Alex - I didn't get the chance to speak to you and thank you for all your help and advice over the last couple of years, so apologies for that. It was nice to see and hear your car on the move though; although it appeared to actually 'take-off' more than 'pull away'... lol.

Can't wait for the next one...

Yes...a good day.

Likewise, sorry I didn't get the opportunity to say hello, but the dog's need to feed was greater than my needs so I had to dash.

As I've already said,I was very impressed with crazyleg's car running the APR kit......I think it's well thought out,and really does pull well, even if the maximum you can get from a b*stardised kit like mine is greater, but the fact that you can get that from a single kit is superb.

Nice and the 400 mark would be good haha.

I have noticed though from everyones Dyno Runs my peak power is alot less down the RPM than most of yours guys,
your all mainly up in the 6000 rpm and mine is only 5100 rpm. Why would this be or what difference does it make if any?

I think that mine and crazyleg's would be higher, due to the different hardware we're running, but looking at your graph, the power curve flattens off completely at 5000+rpm,which is a bit odd.....did AMD say anything about that?

No they didn't say anything at all,

Just looking also at kentkids graph and we are both at stage 2+ and also luckybob is only at stage 2 and they both have higher rpm also???

Mine in for the morning tomorrow so will keep you posted!

Maybe down to different software and settings, but also worth a phone call.

Hmmm strange, maybe I will give them a call tomorrow and just see what they say.

Is it better to have it lower down the rpm or higher and does it actually make any difference lol

Ideally peak power at the rev limiter, and flat torque curve from relatively low down.

The K04 will naturally lose torque at higher rpm though.

Well that's me total out of that one haha, my dyno is nothing like that lol

at the end of the day thats just numbers, if your car feels fast and more importantly reliable, just be happy and enjoy it ;)

Hi s3Alex was good to meet you at amd on Sunday for the rolling road day and get to see the beast lol
It was a great day and enjoyed it. Regarding advice was looking at starting modding my standard s3 and was wondering what mods I should start with and what are the best parts (brands) I should go for or some good options. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I a new to all thetunning scene.
Kind regards Rob
