Turbo Whine!

Hi guys, my cars been making this noise ever since my standard TIP rotted off at the turbo end. Since been replaced. It only makes this noise under load and I've got a fault code for the N249.



any ideas?
 
Boost leak, it stops as soon as the pipes are not under pressure.
 
That makes sense. I've been told that it could be bearings in turbo but I really think that's wrong.
 
Nah doubt it, When mine died a few months back it did it all the time. This is what it sounded like at idle.

hmmm
having heard this now, it does sound like turbo, but smoke leak test before.
 
Would be interested to know if it does the noise while not moving and just reving. While stationary it doesn't pressurize the hoses, but a bearing might still make a noise.
 
Yeah that's why I said it's only doing it under load. Stationary it's fine when revving and idles as it should.
 
Like badger says, take it for a smoke test. Shark performance near me do one for 40 quid i believe. Will show any holes in pipes.
 
I've found a place to send it near me so I'll report back with findings in the week. Thanks guys.
