Guys,
Just got the all important email from my salesman to say my car landed yesterday and I'm picking it up on Wednesday. I was surprised as I only received a letter on Wednesday saying the car had left the factory and to expect delivery in around 2 weeks.

The only concern I'm going to have is that the cars first trip will be Bolton to Blackpool (home) and to Bristol (uni) on Thursday so I'm not sure how this will affect running the car in.

Also not to mention thanks to everyone for making the wait bearable knowing I'm not the only one. So now I'm counting down the days till the 1.2 tfsi goes back and I get my 2.0 tdi, I must say the 1.2 is surprisingly good though.

You will love it. 2.0 TDI cracking engine.

you're not sure how DRIVING the car will affect running in.....

DA FUQ?

As in the first 250/300 miles being all motorway so same speeds give or take 10mph and constant revs

Frame it and stick it on top of the fire place is the best way to keep it safe imo.

Just drive it with care, when I got my TDI it had like 80 miles on the clock, make sure yours doesn't!

How do you make sure you don't have 80 miles on the clock?

A new car shouldn't have any where near that level of mileage, I will be informing and requesting a close eye is kept on making sure it doesn't happen, aside from that, can't really do much else. Even the finance manager at the time was shocked it had that much mileage on, but I didn't know much back then so let it slide. In addition to the mileage all wheels were scuffed and inside was dirty with marks on the door.

I will be dropping my Audi guy an email when he lets me know the car is arriving at their dealership

Mine had 24 miles on it when I got it. But I know the storage compound for my dealer is seven miles away from the showroom. They also take it on a test drive before hand over so I kind of accept it will have a few miles on it.

The S3 had 16 miles on it when I collected it. The two previous SEATs each had 28 (coincidence?!!!) and the car before those had 22.

80 does seem extortionately high!

28 seems a magic number! Picked my S3 up last Friday and that also had 28 miles on the clock. Has a few more now......!

7 miles on my 8V, 12 on previous 8P and 3 on a BMW! Much more than 15-20 and I'd be asking some very awkward questions...
