Well yesterday I came out to my car to take my son to the doctors and noticed a note on my windscreen, thought why is that there. Go round to the passenger side of my car to find this

Thankfully the note was from a very genuine lady who left her name and contact number as she 'didn't see my car when reversing' in her 4x4. She wanted to pay for the repair herself but after me getting quotes from bodyshop of £800+ and telling her I will need a hire car aswell she took my advice and have done it through the insurance. She has admitted 100% liability (couldn't really argue it as my car was unattended and legally parked!) No excess to pay on my end and on the plus that wing was starting to show signs of bubbling. Being collected tomorrow to be fixed, let's see what I get as a hire car......

At least she left a note for you mate.

The cnut that drove into mine when I was Christmas shopping last year just drove off. The thing that ****** me off was that I managed to find an A4 without any signs of bubbling on both arches so I didn't have to shell out for them at a body shop.

Should be a straight forward repair. At least the person left you a note. Are you planning to treat the other wing if it's starting to bubble too? Might be an option to get it repaired while it's at the body-shop anyway.

I know I'm shocked she left a not with real details on, there are genuine people out there. It got it last month on the rear quarter, no where near as bad as this but still scuffed the paint, person just drove off.

The other wing is ok with no signs of rust at all. This wing had been repainted by the previous owner as it was darker than the door so I'm guessing it had been repaired before for some reason, maybe a bad job which has caused the rusting. They said they may replace the wheel aswell as it's been scuffed and do a full alignment if all the suspension is ok.

£800+?!
Ouch.
Glad she left a note! We had this last year when a van reversed into the rear quater panel of our 200+k A6. I expected it to be written off but they fixed it.

Yup, crazy isn't it.

Car got taken away yesterday and I picked up my hire car.

Lexus IS300H
I must say it's a very nice car!

should have the audi back in 2 weeks

Well I've got it back, very happy with the work they have done apart from one thing which I'm complaining about.

It's had, new front wing, new headlight, new sill cover, new pirelli tyre, refurbished wheel, wing and door painted.

My complaint is that as they have refurbished the wheel it now is a different colour to the rest as the have just painted it in a flat silver rather than what the ronal sline wheels are painted with. So I either want a new wheel or the other 3 done to match, as I feel the car should be back to how it was before the crash without mismatch shades of silver on the wheels.

Yes but my bumper proberbly could do with a bit of adjustment to make it less of a gap, on the cabriolet the Grill isn't part of the bonnet. The grill is attached to the bumper unlike on the saloon/avent

No wonder our insurance is going up. Was the headlight damaged? Not sure why they changed the tyre either. Stick to your guns regards wheel - needs to the same as the others.

Its the first time i have ever used my insurance in 10 years so nice to have it done properly apart from the wheel. Headlight had a chip out of it apparently which I had never noticed and a broken bracket, wondering if they damaged it when removing it. Tyre had a small chunk out of it hence them changing it along with a scratch on the wheel which is why they refurbished it. Don't know how it passed their quality control as it's obviously a completely different silver to the rest!
