Received the Vehicle Logbook (V5C) this week.

Everything okay - except for D.3 Model entry.
Entry states: A4 Technik 1.8 TFSI

Should state: A3 S-Line TDI

Submitted it for change on Friday.

Good news is that it's a free change and I don't have to pay the usual £25 fee.
:thrashi:

Never experienced that before. All other Logbook details correct.
:audibash:

I would check your vin number too. It looks as if the dealer may have sent the wrong document to the DVLA. I know this has happened in the past.

Checked ALL the other details - everything else fine.

Dealer must have clicked the wrong entry from the drop down box when entering the Model.

:stupid:

That's good news.....................

I would be kicking off if they did try and charge you £25, given it's not your error!

Got my replacement Logbook back.

They haven't changed anything - still says A4 instead of A3.

Unbelievable - got to send it back in again to get it sorted.

I still think you should have a closer look at the car ;)

Unbelievable how inept some organisations are!

****** incredible! :keule::keule::keule:

DVLA have really gone down hill. used to have a local office to us that you could pop in and get stuff done over the counter, they're all shut now :-(

I sent off my retention documents for my private reg that was on my old Honda, they sent them back saying that the V5 wasn't the most up to date copy and that they have sent me a new one, once the new one arrives please resend your documents??? useless

Further Update to the Saga.

While the Logbook was returned in Envelope 1 with nothing amended, today I have received Envelope 2 which states why they have done nothing.
(Why not put both in the same Envelope then you get the explanation at the same time as the unaltered Logbook - should save on Postage as well maybe ??).

Anyway, you (the buyer) are NOT allowed to make changes to the Model Description.
The Dealer is NOT allowed to make changes to the Model Description.

The only element that IS allowed to make the change is the Manufacturer itself.

Now I have to find the Address / Contact Details for Audi UK to write off to them to ask their permission and to receive confirmation in writing from them that they agree that I can change the Model Description.
If / when I receive this, then I have to re-submit the above process again, although this time with the Manufacturer's written permission included.

I can see why the Dealer chose not to bother with all this rigmarole and has left it to me to resolve.

:audibash:

Ah well, hopefully all sorted soon.

Just got to follow the :rulez: and I'll be Paperwork sorted in no time.

It's all good fun - provided the conclusion is a happy one !!

Throw it all on the stealerships managing directors desk and walk out the door saying sort it.

E-mail dropped to Audi UK.
Was a lot easier to find the contact details than I thought.

It's now with the Audi Contact Centre who will hopefully call me tomorrow and say "Confirmation Letter in the Post".

Send that back in with my V5C and hopefully all resolved.

Certainly increased my knowledge in this area - although was quite happy in my previous ignorance !!

Received my Letter from Audi UK today confirming indeed that my car is an A3.
That's a good start and contains all the relevant detail that was requested.

Now back to where I was on 20 September, although this time when I submit the V5C for update, I have the Manufacturer Letter to go with it.
Nearly there - hopefully :aggressive:

a *copy* of the letter, keep the original safe, because you know what's gonna happen... "...what letter sir, there were no attachments"

Updated Logbook (V5C) arrived today.

Bit of trepidation while gingerly opening the Envelope - don't want to rip it in half at this stage.

Checked the Model Entry and YES all correct.
Car is now officially an A3 S-Line TDI - which is good news, cos that's what it says on the Car.

Bit of a saga, although pleased all sorted.
Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, although if it does, at least you know now the Procedure / Process.
