MIGGZ's A3 1.8t - The all rounder build thread

Then you can decide what else you wana do, new rings, recon head, new bearings and cambelt. It all starts to add, I'm chilling on 25k at the moment

Well considering I paid 45k last year hoping it would be solid, yes I think this time it will be.... I hope lol

Redoing exhaust to full 76 system and doing boost pipes and 100mm induction

Yeah... I think I will start buying parts slowly ... someone rear ended my girlfriends 86 so no work on my car for the next two weeks.

Another update

I wouldn't have the MAF so close to the DV like that mate... causes running issues as the airflow through it disturbs airflow past the MAF and buggers fuelling

I'd at least swap the joiners around to space it further away

Ok awesome thanks Paul, I'll build a new intake next week and getting further down.

the car started on saturday and it sounded awesome but water was ******* out the metal pipe that pushes into the block, so put a new o ring and siliconed it and let it stand over night.

yesterday started the car and all seemed fine until that pipe started leaking again :mad new::mad new::mad new:
but took the car for a drive anyway, feels awesome and smooth and no noise and pulls lovely!!!

ordered a new o ring from ash ill strip it off again tonight and fit and then double check everything and put some milage on tonight

Glad its back on the road mate, the feeling when you turn the key after having the engine out and rebuilding is great isn't it?
Also liking the air vent gauge setup, would have thought you needed the blowers working over there with the heat!

Lol I just replied in your thread something similar to your post now hahahahah

It was function over form and i needed the vent space... I'll just have to live with the vents I have lol
