I'm getting my 18inch speedlines refurbed this week and want to see some pics of b6s with 18s on and how much it's lowered by (or standard)

I removed my coilovers as there was knackered. So put standard springs back on, which resulted in mega highs.

My speedlines are from an a3, so need spacing, but I want to see what you lads have got.

What springs you chose?
What wheels/tyres?

Thanks again fellas

Standard Sport springs. 18x8J ET40 Audi Caressa Alloys / 235x40 tyres / no spacers (yet). Rear shocks are probably past their best so it may be a little low at the back!

I think mine looks higher due to the narrow wheels

I really want to try some 20mm spacers on the rear.

And lower on eibachs when I get some cash.

It's an SE sport as standard but I bought year springs from diesel jake, and haven't a clue what they're from haha apparently the same car.

I wasn't bothered as I got a good deal. I was going to put some cheaper apex springs on, but I'm doubting il go for them.

I might even sell the speedlines after the refurb and get some rs6's that are wider and full the arches more without spacers

Not 18's but my 19's on std sport suspension

Does look good mate but I've had 19s bmw tigerclaws.

If I went for 19s again it would be rs6s more than likely. Il settle for 18s.

I just want it lower again just not as low as before where I couldn't get a jack under it.

I think 20mm on 19s would be okay or 30-40mm on 18s so might just go for them at some point.

Yeah I was going to bring this picture up and tagged chris in it.
Does look good for standard, so maybe 20lower would be practical and smart.

Think I'm getting somewhere now lol

H&R 35mm springs on new sport shocks, and b5 perches up front

Tbh I think the springs are from a 3.0 or 2.5 with a stronger load rating causing it to stay high.

These are the looks I'm after, il see how much money I've got as I've just bought 2 track rod ends yesterday.
Plus it's costing me £80 to get the wheels acid dipped and sand blasted by the wheel specialist.

Can everyone still get a trolley jack under yours?
And can they still manage to get on a 4 post ramp?

Been looking at apex 40mm drop, £130 from DPM

They're tuv approved plus I can see them being too bad as I don't tow, it isn't a Quattro, I only do motorway miles.

Also these don't break the bank. I'm just thinking will 40mm be too much?

1 garage couldn't get mine on a ramp, but another could. Haven't used a trolley jack on it yet, it'll be tight though I know that.

I think 40mm will be nice from the height your're at now.

I don't imagine 40mm being any problem from your height by the looks of it. Will look good too!

I think il just get the apex springs tbh.
Il leave the perches for now aswell.

I did a 40mm drop plus perches and it was too low to be honest. I've removed the perches since, and gone back to a 20mm drop as the wife moaned too much. I'll dig out a pic with 40mm drop plus b5 perches tonight if I remember. But yeah, I'd say it was too low.

I've posted some online before if you fancy searching through my old posts.

H&r are great Paul
Had they're adapter for the x5 wheels
But they're £220 which I don't want to pay tbh.

I'm actually thinking of selling the speedlines after the refurb, and get some proper a4 wheels like rs6s, Avus, 19s speedlines ? God knows lol

I think tomorrow il measure my arches and see how far I want to go down

I'm going to put the springs on hold for a bit, as I have a list of jobs to do to the car.

Need a wing mirror
Got an oil leak
Track Rod ends to change
Tracking
Wheel refurb
Squeaky front brake lol

I know people will say get the springs then tracking done, but I don't think I can afford them ATM, plus I need to get the car up to a decent standard as its p*ssing me off ATM

It's the sensible thing to do, you should always make sure the geometry is correct before lowering IMO. There is no point lowering a car that has split bushes and worn ball joints as it won't handle correctly.

That's why I replaced every control arm, bush, shock, and even the front tyres when I lowered mine. Also you then only need to have it aligned once.

Jimmy it's had full lemforder control arms last year and track rods but they were q-drive and are *****.

So it's needed tracking anyway... And the track rod ends are shot so thought il get that done.
Then if I want to lower it I still can as the alignment will be still correct.

I need to get two tyres too but that's only so I can put my old wheels back on while the speedlines get shot blasted.

I'm also going to re torque all the bolts up on the arms just to make sure, as I do get some Knocks etc but I think that's the extremely terrible roads in my estate even Paul knows what they like

I wasn't saying your cars not upto scratch mate, I was saying your doing the right thing by making sure it's ready for the lows.
Too many people just slap a set of springs, or coils on without giving the rest of the parts attached to them a second thought.

I know mate, I didn't take it the wrong way lol.
Yeah totally understand your point, and agree with you.

I was hoping to get tonight off work, and do the track rods today but I've got to go in.

It's the little things that get to me on a daily basis, like cracked Wong mirror bugs me every time I look in it, I'm going to message some people that are breaking b6s on the bay
