Hi all, just a quick hello. I signed up last night after months and months of reading posts. Hope to get chatting to you all soon.

Paul

Welcome to the forum mate, enjoy your stay. All a friendly / helpful bunch here.

Thanks mate, learnt so much already from this forum and hoping to expand on that.

Hi Paul, welcome to audi-sport.net. Hope you enjoy the forum. :) x

It's 2006 2.0 tdi 170 s line in phantom black. It's been remapped but not sure what to and who by as it was done by the previous owner. Will get some pics up this afternoon after it's had a good wash. Done a few little mods, had standard wheels refurbed and sprayed gun metal grey, tints all round and upgraded interior LEDs. Upgraded sound system couple weeks ago and added a sub and amp. Changed side lights and number plate lights to LEDs the other day and upgraded head light bulbs to xenon, just waiting for matching fog and main beam bulbs to be delivered. Got quite a few more little mods to come in the next couple of months. Will get pics up in a bit and update this thread as I do more.

Yeah black is one of the best colors imo, give it the stealth look..

Little update: tinted rear lights today using fly eye and I'm fairly pleased with the outcome. Gotta say it was an absolute PITA to do, I took the lights off the car to do it as I thought it would be easier but infact made it harder! Didn't do to bad a job, a few creases towards the top of the lights but not bad for a first attempt. Will redo them in the next couple weeks anyway but they'll do for now, also going to order some more tomorrow to do the head lights and side indicators next weekend. I think it's a bang on little mod and only cost a fiver so happy days.
Pics to follow and comments welcome.

Cheers mate. Yeah i was originally going to plastidip gunmetal grey with gloss black grill, fogs and b pillars but decided to stick with black and stealth it. Paint work isn't great, quite a few light scratches and chips that need attention and water drainage grooves on the roof have cracked all the way down and slightly rusted in places but decided the stealth look will be worth getting all that sorted rather than just hiding it with the plastidip.

Also toying with the idea of debadging at the back but the few a3s I've seen it on it looks kind of strange, almost like it changes the shape of the back end. Probably just me.

That would look nice :) stealth look all the way tho.... take your time doing it and make it ya project :) hmmm I know what you nean, maybe blackout the Audi badge?

Yeah I've planned on blacking out the audi badge. Was going to black out the front one too but I saw these led ones on eBay, most people probably think they look cheesy but on the pics I've seen of them they stand out real nice in between the xenon lights and just look normal chrome when not in use. We'll see anyway.

Hmmm yeah I think that looks nice :D. Don't know if it will attract the coppas tho....

Will have to wait and see, worst case is I have to remove it and just replace with my old one.

Another little update, I've caught the bug big time. Fitted the xenon full beam and fog light bulbs today and also wired up some LED strips in the fog grills. I'm really pleased with how it's all coming together so far. I'll be brushing the hubs and spraying them black next weekend as they've gone a bit rusty and while I've got the wheels off I'm gonna give them a good clean and seal. Will also be applying fly eye film to the headlights and side indicators so will do another update next weekend when that's all done. Anyway pics of today to follow.

I've used filters here to try and give a more true representation of what the lights look like in the flesh without the colour the camera adds.

Lovely looking A3 and good mods, one of the best mods to be done is OEM S3 bi-xenons they look the nuts. Have them on my current A3 and all my others I've owned in the past maybe something worth doing if funds permit.

Looking good bruva

Thanks for the comments guys. The xenons do look really nice but bit expensive at the mo with the other things I've got planned, maybe in the future though. The poor mans xenon will do for now though and I'm very happy with them compared to the standard halogen bulb.

Update:

So I tinted the headlights, fog lights and side indicators yesterday using the same fly eye as on the back. Really pleased with the result and went for a drive in the dark earlier and the light output is still fine, it has affected it slightly but still definitely bright enough, might not be the same for standard halogen bulbs though so something worth thinking about if you're going to tint your lights. Anyway here's the pics.

Also tinted the spoiler brake light to finish them all off

And here's a few random ones to show the tint from different angles.
