Hey all, name's David, I've owned a LOT of cars, my latest being a 2004 A3 S-Line 3.2 V6 DSG. I'm nearly 30 so don't fancy going too mad with it but maybe a few tweaks here and there.

Oh I'm from Kent, UK and have full VCDS if anyone's interested or needs codes checked, coding etc.

Hi David, welcome to audi-sport.net. Any pics of the car? Lots of info in the a3 section faqs thread. Enjoy the forum. :) x

I've not got any yet but will endeavour to take some very soon! Already on the hunt for lowering springs haha! Thanks Sandra.

Check out the classifieds section. We also have site sponsors who sell these :) x

Hi David.... You got a great car there. With the 3.2 badge removed those cars look no different to a 1.6 (to the untrained eye)!
That's what I love about that model. The element of surprise. :racer: Was that one of the reasons you bought it?

Well I was looking at MK4 R32's but then thought there was a bit of a "boy-racer" persona attached to them. So I had a little look around and noticed the A3 3.2 V6 was the same engine and mated to the DSG box with subtle styling it could be a winner. I do love it, I know it's not as fast as a lot of cars but it does do what it does well.

What it lacks in speed it more than makes up for in grunt

Welcome to ASN :icon thumright:

I wouldn't say these cars lack in speed - all things considered. They're still faster than most cars on the road.
Good luck to anyone who under estimates one of these. I was seriously considering buying one but decided on the S3 (wish I'd gone for the 3.2 now).

I think it's a strange sort of power, it's very refined but then the speedo does start climbing at a reasonable rate once she's at full chat and you don't really realise it. Mated to the DSG box though it certainly is good fun :)

I think that's just how it goes with big engine naturally aspirated cars... the powers there instantly... so it doesn't feel like it's shooting you right back in your seat with a slightly delay like a turbo car would... it's just there already. I prefer it to be honest!

I've had a lot of turbocharged cars. Including the MK5 GTI DSG, TT Mk1 225, S3 8L, Ibiza Cupra Mk4, Leon Cupra Mk2 and I must admit they were all pretty fast cars, all of which were remapped and fettled with so at the moment the big 3.2 feels a bit sluggish but I really like it a lot. There's no drama about the power delivery which I do miss but it's a nice balance of performance, smoothness and grunt.
