Just Had Apr Stage 2 Re-map On My S3

Are you sure as I don't have Facebook! I did have but now I'm undercover and deleted my account.

Sorry Charlie it was Mason I was referring too... ;)

Just read your update there, not good dude... I would send that back and maybe bite the bullet on a new pump...

Quick Update,

I have removed the front of the pump and behold the O'ring is actualy missing!!

I have now fitted a new one and fingers crossed i can make some progress in this nightmare later on when re-re-re fitting the pump.

Big update!!

Pump on no leaking and hesitation gone! Omg how much better does the car feel. Couldnt fit the RS4 valve tho need some one that has done this before for that job haha.

Thank you for everything tho guys much appreciated need to go back now and get the re-maped altered for the pump now.

Do have a quick question tho, took it out for test drive went like stink but on braking the brakes are shaking like hell, to scared to press the brake pedal its was that bad. Did have recently new pagid discs and pads would this be the cause? Or are the S3 standard brake just poo?

Cheers for all the help again guys much appreciated

Brakes shaking could be unbalanced wheels, warped discs, or glazed pads.

Juddering will be the pads, get some better quality ones in there and the juddering will go.

Yeah as above.
I had judder and it was traced to tbe garbage Pagid pads leaving deposits on the discs which cause vibration.

Haha sounds good enough to me.

Will change them in the week. Are genuine pads any good or are there better options?

You could sciff the discs clean with some sandpaper which would fix the judder again until next time.
Ds2500 pads but they're £130
Brembo pads are about £50 delivered
Depends what you want to spend

DS2500 will be a good match for stage 2+

I think for road use, these things are fine, but a trackday will kill them(as predicted by DaveB,and confirmed by myself).

Going back to the pump....how shoddy is that to come minus the O-ring,but I'm pleased you've got it sorted.

The RS4 valve is a PITA to fit,and requires skinned knuckles and a few spanners bent to fit.

Glad you got sorted with the pump situation mate. Kinda annoying it wasnt plain sailing for you but glad you got it sorted. Hope you get your brakes sorted too!

Cheers for all the comments and help guys I do really appreciate it, just so glad it's all over and running.
Bit of a ball ache but got there in the end. Just need to got back now for the apr upgrade. The power delivery is pretty awsum with the APR map. It's not 1 big jolt of power it's a constant power even up till 6500rpm.

Will have a look at some pads maybe next is the brake upgrade :)

Hi guys im nit doing so good with this car or the APR re-map lol.

As you all aware i had the hesitation fault, new pump with uprated internals solved my problem.

Just went back today for the stage 2+ upgrade and now the idleing is fluctuating and reving on its own.
They have run diagnostics ect and it look like now the PCV valve is faulty does this sound about right?
As it drove in on stage 2 mint and came out 2+ faulty????

Sounds very much like PCV failure.

That thing is a real PITA,and I can't say I'm sorry to have binned mine completely.

Mad how it drove in mint no fault remaped to 2+ and drove out and failed lol.

They are ordering me a BSA pcv delete kit are they ok?

I think you may mean BSH.

Thats these guys...

The eagle-eyed may notice similarities with Revo's product here....

Now I'm not too sure how their tie-up is now but...

Would you fit a catch can at the same time as the PCV delete kit Alex?

Just had a Stage 2 car in for a diagnostic, and there it was dropping pressure in the midrange. The maps are setup too aggressively IMO.

Rick

Hi mate, not good is it, the pump sorted my car out a treat but gone back for the 2+ and now I have a failed PCV. They said extra strain on components is mainly the cause does this sound about right?

PCV go over time, not instantly. In my blog you'll see I replaced the PCV after 61k miles, it does get a bit of crud build up.

Final update hopefully haha.

Cars back with the new updated pcv and it's running fine with no problems.

It's now running stage 2+ and it goes well very happy with it.

Just need to see the figures now on the RR Sunday can't wait.

Thank you for everything guys really appreciated what you have done over the weeks guys with your feed back and knowledge.

Did you go for the PCV delete kit or a new OEM PCV? I would be interested to know this as I dont rate the PCV delete at all.

No why what had happened with your car and the dyno lol,

And S3 trev I was going pcv delete but is then had a change of heart and bought the new modified pcv from TPS and it works a treat.
Has a hole in the top now to let all the crap out well I think that's what it's for lol.

I would be very interested to see a picture of that mate. And also a part number would be fantastic if you have it?

.

It often pulls back timing on the dyno, and the dyno gives the Haldex a bit of a hard time as well.

Aww man just your car or most S3 with haldex system?

It are you just abit worried about us all lol Geting some excuses in now haha.:moa:

Audi run their Haldex cars in 2wd mode at the factory :)

Now that's an interesting snippet.

We've tried mine in both modes, and definitely 2WD causes less problems, but what a PITA.

Bet they don't run 500bhp either...

I know others have had similar problems, but knowing it pulls back on the RR but runs fine on the real road,I guess means I know I get better real performance than simulated so to speak...

We got 490bhp on the old turbo with the same issues,so realistically, this should do a bit better.....fingers crossed.

Could you explain this a bit further? Not sure what you mean by "run" for instance. Cheers.

Just means they disable the Haldex for RR tests by removing it's fuse.

Ah ok. I was thinking it must be something like that but I wasnt sure. Do they do the RR test on a dyno I presume? What all do they measure? Surely its not how much power the car is putting out if the engine is brand new? Sorry about all the questions!
