Im due a major service o my '06 cab (1.8 petrol, 60,000 miles)
The difference between a interim and a major (at a dealer seems to £150 for plugs and and an air filter).
Is it worth just getting an interim done (stamp in book) and changing the plugs and filter myself?
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated

You could probably do it yourself if you feeling up to it. Considering both are relatively easy to change. I would probably look at getting the fuel filter changed as well. If it hasn't been changed already. And possibly a pollen filter.

Dont forget the cam belt is due as well especially if it has not been done.

Thanks - yeh I could do plugs and air filter pretty easy and I'll take a look at the fuel filter
Belt and water pump done a couple of years ago

Fuel filter is a 5 min job its literally sits in front of your rear driver side wheel under a piece of black plastic. When you there literally one screen to loosing the bracket, then 2 clips, one on ea side of the filter. Pop the new one on. And reverse the process. Try get a Mann one if you aren't buying a audi part even thou its the same thing just with no audi logo on and same goes for the air filter.

The cambelt/waterpump due every 5/6 years.

£30 for what? And it depends on your engine code AMB or BFB. And if you running any mods

£30 for the fuel filter (Mann) engine code BFB and no mods
Thanks

That fuel filter seems mighty expensive even thou I do see the exact one you looking at. The H199WK fuel filter.

I would maybe contact Audi, thou I will do some digging myself as I know there are 3 types of fuel filter for your vehicle. The NGK plugs are perfect that are listed on there site for £7.56.
