Hi all I'm after someone and something to fit my a6 so I can connect my iPhone up to the car either Bluetooth or by plugging something in?? I'm also looking at adding dab same applies and would want someone who could fit it as I'm not too clued up on the installation!! Thanks in advance

More info on your car? There are options out there but it will depend on many things including whether you have 2G or 3G MMI.

Sorry I have the mmi 3G with cd changer and the dvd player with 2 as card slots

You can get he AMI retrofitted to the car (if you are not the first owner of the the check the roof of the glovebox to make sure it is not already installed. If the car has it there will be a socket in the back left hand corner). A cheaper alternative is to put your music on to an SD Card and use the available slots. With DAB you can go down the cheap route of a Pure module and stream over FM but if you want the factory install experience it can be done (Kufatec sell the box for about £500 + Installation) but is not cheap.

im pretty certain i dont have the AMI fitted so will go down that route as i want to plug my iphone in and play from there as i have spotify and want to use it in the car!! also how do i get the phone to play via bluetooth?? do you know of anyone on here who is local to staffordshire who retrofits them?? i can wait for the dab until ive sorted this out.

On the C6 you cannot stream from the phone via bluetooth, that only came with the C7. Also I am pretty sure you cannot use Spotify via the AMI as the AMI only looks for the music in the phone's music library (as used by iTunes) and I don't think Spotify puts its music there (assuming you have a premium account). If you are using it over the air then it will almost certainly not work (standby for someone to prove me wrong!!). There is a workaround, in that there are adaptors that fit onto the AMI cable to allow it received music via bluetooth, but the downside of that is that you lose the charging function of the AMI system as the phone is not physically attached and also your iPhone cannot be attached to 2 Bluetooth devices simultaneously so you would lose the handsfree phone functionality. The Dension 500 alternative offers bluetooth out of the box so that may be a better option but you would need to use it for both music and the phone for the reasons given above

As to who to fit it ,suggest you speak to a local Audi dealer and ask who they use to do AMI retrofits as I gather it is very common, indeed the AMI in my C7 was retrofitted, arranged by the dealer. Otherwise do a search for retrofit Audi Music Interface and see what comes up that is local to you.
