ok we have a 1.8t sport 2001 we have fitted dp/decat s2000 air filter tip n75 maf dv007 now it wont idle properly with the revs all over the place .if its a boost leak how do i check for this, been told to do a smoke test how do i do this, also can i download the ross tech free version <which one do i use > to help find the faults sorry for all the questions thanks kev

For a smoke test you need to go to a garage that has the appropriate gear. To check for a leak yourself you're basically just looking for split pipes, if it's happening while you're idling there is a good chance it will be a vacuum leak. There are quite a few pipes that are common to go.. Check all vacuum lines leaving the throttle body for a place to start

i have checked the pipe work and cant feel/see any split pipes ,but if i take the small pipe off the top of the dv the all rev/ idle returns to normal. help please

Honestly I don't know what it is. Is the DV plumbed in correctly?

The other side of that pipe that you're talking about goes to the n249. Look in the stickies on how to do remove it as that might fix your idle issues
