Hi all,

I'm looking for the 2.0TSI or S3 to test our remap out on. All is done through OBD, no ECU removal required, and the car can be flashed back to standard any time :)

PM please if interested.

Thanks, Rick

If it won't show a TD1, I'm in :)

So the ECU has been cracked? Is it a generic map off the shelf type thing or is it rolling road tuned?

The situation with TD1 is as follows:

Every software version has a checksum, which is a digital signature. Change the contents of the software, and the checksum changes. The checksum is stored at Audi HQ's server. When the car is connected to the dealer diagnostic machine, the checksum is periodically compared to what is stored on the server. If the two do not match, TD1 is flagged. This does not void warranty directly. There are legimate reasons for the checksums not to match - for example a software update that is not done by a dealer connected to the server. If the car has engine issues, and there is a TD1 flag, then this MAY be investigated.

By flashing back the original software, then the checksum is original.

Do you have the capability for me to re-flash back to original map if needed, and to flash to Stg 1 if I went down this route?

Can't wait to see the outcome of this, when my S3 arrives next year I will be considering this soon as it can be done so someone please be a guinea pig :)

Come down to Sydney, Oz and you have a test car!

Which 1.4 because I have seen higher from my engine advertised from other remaps.

Thanks all, I have an S3 coming next week so hopefully make some progress.

Re the 1.4 engines:

122PS is making around 145, the 140 engine 165. The older 1.4 small frame turbo's didn't have large gains, and I don't expect these to be much different. The 180PS engines gain more, especially torque :)

Any news re the S3 remap.. how is it coming along? Some figures would be great :)

Hi Rick,

Any progress with the S3 yet? There are a fare few of us waiting in anticipation :)

Yes, lots of progress. I've been spending a lot of time looking into the intricacies of the ECU, little things such as suggested gear shift display and control of the divertor valve. Stage 1 is pretty much finalised, just some more testing needed. Hope to have dyno and full performance data available next week :)
