Quick question regarding the footrest on the A3... Is the footrest bigger on the S - Tronic compared to a manual? I've bought this footrest plate from eBay, but it's too wide for my footrest. Or has the seller sent me the wrong one?

You can see towards the top of the footrest the plate hangs over considerably.

Thanks

I can't be certain but I'm pretty sure the S tronic foot rest will be larger than that of a manual car

That looks like the one I bought from eBay for my auto. Don't know if there is one for a manual car but mine doesn't overhang at all.

Glospete, yeah this is the one you recommended! I had no idea they're different sizes.. The seller hasn't said on their listing either. So shouldn't have a problem in getting my money back.

We have a demo s-tronic at work.
It's got an alloy footrest unlike my manual does. I'm not going to lie. A small part of me was extremely jealous as it looks ace, but i did notice it looked a little wider than the manual.

I don't think it does, why would they sell them as an accessory? Possibly the S3's do.

I'm pretty confident that the s-tronic footrest is wider than the manual.

I was thinking the same and I can't remember after the test drive.

If not I'll be buying one,

There's no OEM metallic footrest for righthand drive A3/S3's, only lefthand drive, hence the after market ones - of which I have one ready to go for my S3 when it finally arrives...

I'm pretty sure it had an alloy footrest on the car at work. Will check today and get a picture chucked up if the car's there.

Yeah the left hand drive cars seem to have them as standard, RHD don't :(

To be fair, I guess it would make sense to have a wider footrest on the S-Tronic considering there's one less pedal to fit in the footwell.....?

I'd quite happily lose the footrest on my S-Tronic.

I prefer to stretch out.

Yep, my manual LHD S3 has an alloy footplate. To be honest I think it looks a bit naff as it stands out too much.

Yes the LHD footrest is enormous - fortunately the RHD version is a little less "in your face" or should that be "on your foot?

Which image?

He really needs to stop using that tapatalk thing, he can't see half the stuff he should ;)

Even less excuse when he gets his iPhone 6Plus, it's not as if it will struggle for screen space ;)

When I said image above I meant a few posts above, as it was the only image nearby I assumed you would know what I was on about lol

Assuming you mean post 15 (mine which is the last image) then no it is not LHD

^ You can tell that from the pic, cos it shows the transmission tunnel, and wheel arch :p
