As title says I own a 2007 1.9 TDI with 130,000 miles on the clock. The last few months I've noticed that the MPG isn't what it should be for a 1.9. I see myself pulling into a petrol station more often than not. I've also noticed that the car smokes on certain occasions, E.G. when starting the car and when moving off in traffic.

I've been doing a bit of reasurch online and it seems that adding Redex to the tank should cure or at least help these issues. Now I've spoken to a few people and I've heared mixed reviews about it. Some have told me to steer clear of it as I'll have nothing but trouble after. Others have said once they added Redex to there tank there was a considerable gain in performance and efficency.

As I've never used Redex I'm just wondering what you guys views are on this product.

No, dealer states no additives, best you can use is some low ash, mineral 2 stroke oil...make sure you take the car for a hard drive on motorway periodically (at least once a week) so the DPF does not get clogged...

Rubbish, I've used millers in its various re brandings over the years on every tank of diesel I've put in. Also it's a 2007 1.9 there is no DPF

Also maybe try cleaning out the egr and intake manifold. I did and it improved my 1.9's performance a bit! I averaged 36-42mpg. I now average high fortys all day long. I'd like to see above 50 though haha
