Here we go Again! A3 1.8T AGU [Ongoing Progress Thread]

Looking fresh I'm just about to get my repainted as it's got swirl and scratch marks everywhere from previous owner and the roof rails have gone rusty. Ball ache. Anyhow cars coming along nicely
You getting a full respray? Yeah my roof gutters aren't great tbh.

Yeah my uncle works in a body shop so pay for materials and free labour. Think the gutters are all going in the 8l's from what I've seen mate. Whats your plans for your a3 in the near future or just plodding along and see what comes along

You are a lucky guy. Id love to get a full respray.. Because I'm a bit OCD with my car!

Well now that the outside is nearly finished I'll start concentrating more on the engine, full service next week then going to get her remapped. Hopefully see around 190bhp+ on the standard k03.

When I get bored of that I'll probably go the k03s route!

You got a build thread?

Ahh fair enough yeah I'm OCD but ATM my outside is a mess lol. Haven't got a build thread didn't think my car is worthy of one compared to the weapons on this site lol, basically bought my a3 agu s reg 2 years ago standard apart from coilovers and tints, had a full custom 3 inch to 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust. k03s. 12psi beachbuggy actuator 80mm. tip. s2000 airfilter. shined the inlet manifold up. audi tt upper strut brace. Made my own quickshifter with some help off prawn on clubgti. 6000k hid kit and mint green standard 16" 5 spoke wheels for now as I'm focusing on engine before outside. Just need vr6 clutch g60 flywheel cambelt and a stage 2 map at badger5 after I've got the clutch. So far slowly but a fun build.

That's it I think if the photos worked. ****** but slowly getting there lol

Sounds like a pretty big spec mate you should definitely start a build thread. Your lucky to get an AGU with a k03s already fitted

Looks really tidy buddy, and you got the facelift lights .

What sort of power you aiming for?

Ahh no I had a k03 originally I bought a k03s Christmas as a present lol fitted it all myself but a right balls he as I've never owned a turbo before I always had escort mk3 and 4 and they are easy to work on. Erm not sure on power 230-240bhp ish and no idea what lb ft torque they go to 250 maybe. My friend has a badger generic stage 1 on his aum 210bhp and 210lb ft torque and it doesn't sound much but it impressed me alot compared to my standard a3 but mine boost a lot better since the k03s and actuator

Popped down to local Seat main dealer today and got hold of a Leon Cupra R splitter.

Also got my badgeless grill.. I've also ordered a genuine grill as I'm still not sure on this one!

it doesnt look bad this badgeless grill on A3 (much better then on S3) probably because it match with down part of front bumper (with "ribs") - i like it - and my opinion i would take it all black like it is in the image above :thumbs up:

How many coats did you go for on the calipers? Did you lacquer them after too? Looks good behind the alloys!

How well did the splitter go on? You just use self tappers? Any cutting needed? Just looking to order one myself.

So I did this today...

Terrible pics I know, but was pretty dark by the time I got finished!
Hi, new member was just having a read through your post, car is stunning, wondering if you could help me, I have a3 8l, it's sitting in a set of 19inch mrk 2 s3 wheels, I have just purchased 40mm lowering springs, do you think I will run into any problems after fitting? Cheers

Nice ... Same colour combo as mine with the grey paint work and creamy / yellow leathers .

Alloys look great mate really suit the car, Mines got audi 18inch 9 spoke rims thought they where standard fit until some one pointed out they where off a s3 /s4 (can't remember now)
