Here we go Again! A3 1.8T AGU [Ongoing Progress Thread]

Got the Turbo Dynamics recirculating valve and popped it on.. Brings back memories of the blue A3.. Phenomenal difference from the old leaky one.

So the 3SDM's have gone and I got myself some genuine Porsche turbo twists. The colour might not be to everyone's taste but its growing on me.. I still might get them refurbed in anthracite, would do people think?

8.5J fronts and 10j rears

Errm not what I wanted to hear :) lol
No my thoughts would be BRIGHT pillar box red :)
Sorry bud :( haha oh right... I was thinking gold/yellow to match my interior or just anthracite to be subtle :/ p.s do you know any cheap wheel refurbishers around our area?

Well I did my own with an eBay kit and they came out really well but if you don't trust yourself there's paint it in billericay who are excellent :)
By the way , have you still got your original air box ? Want rid if you have ?

Ah yeah yours came out really good actually. I will probably do them myself as they're wide spokes. Yeah I've got two actually! Lol

Anodised wheels look the dogs danglys ;P

Front bumper had a terrible rushed paint job (by me) a few weeks ago. So today I sourced a second hand bumper from Munch and did a 'Proper job'.. as far as aerosols go, came out pretty flawless :)

Ming blue bumper! Seen better days.

This thing basically jumped off.

And finally after 2 cans of paint and 3 cans of lacquer

Thanks Marc, I do agree that red would look good.. and those white Brembo's look quality, but I have been toying with the idea of a dark yellow colour to match my ridiculous leather interior, along the lines of this:

What do you think?

Actually do you know what , that works :)
I say do it , if you don't like em change them !
Are they 5x100 or do you need adapters ?
See my thread for air box deal idea ;)

I think I shall! I'll attempt it myself as the success with the bumper has boosted my rattle can confidence!

They're 5x130 Porsche wheels so running adapters all round matey

fairplay that looks awesome, and youve changed my mind,i say borrow a compressor buy a cheap 0.8mm hvlp spray gun only about £15 and get some 2k paint on there,(thats how i done mine)much better finish and much much more durable!

And where is he supposed to buy 2k paint from ?
It's all gone water Bourne and needs air flow rather than heat to cure it !
Environmental controls on VOC's has put pay to cellulose and 2 k paints , rattle cans however have escaped upto now and are just as good nowa days as a cheap 0.8 hvlp gravity de,vilbiss/sata copy :)

You can buy it online mate but I bought mine from my local paint supplies last year, but yes they have stopped selling it now due to regulations, but I know I can get it from a mates mate, who owns a spray shop,so you can still get it.

Even though they use water based basecoat they still use 2k lacquer.

You don't need a lacquer with a solid colour, but some people do just for the extra shine.

Haha. Yes buddy I used lacquer.. Plenty lacquer dear! As its a metallic colour. If your paint is a solid colour there is no need to use lacquer :)

Performed my first clay bar today, did the whole car including the roof and WOW. Claying is definitely a must before polishing/waxing.

First of all I gave the car a thorough wash and dried it, I then started to Clay the car using autoglym rapid detailer as lubrication.

Car felt like glass after the clay bar process - very impressed.

Then I applied wax, a panel at a time.. The stuff I used was quite expensive (£30) but WELL worth it. I did a lot of researching reviews before I took the plunge!

Was messing about with adapters earlier trying to get fitment right, accidentally left the locking wheel nut key on the wheel and drove off. Turned around to go search for it and my grill flew off and the car behind ran it over - yay.

Ordered this:

Got myself some new headlights as mine were cracked and weren't projectors (HID's looked pap)

Matching black indicators should be here tomorrow (fingers crossed)

Having a load of hassle from the brake light switch .. I bought a cheap replacement which has failed a week later. Do they need greasing or anything as it seems the pistons just get sticky?

New tyres on the way also as MOT ran out today

Ahhhh Sam I have a badge less grill you could of had for the cost of postage lol cars looking mint mate

Spanking new tyres on, CV boot fixed.

Just waiting on the black indicators and the grill now.. Just in time for Players next Sunday

Looking fresh I'm just about to get my repainted as it's got swirl and scratch marks everywhere from previous owner and the roof rails have gone rusty. Ball ache. Anyhow cars coming along nicely
