cheers karl, kinda dont wanna take it out the garage now, i will take it out for a spin today... what are the actual tolerances on the big ends in mm? i know its done by thou and its what? 0.0015? but what fraction of a mm is that?

so less than a 20th of a mm... i would say rod 4 is way out on the bently spec then, the audi badging on the inner surface of that rod cap was almost worn right off...
we will see anyway, done 10 miles today (at less than 3k lol) and its ok so far, fingers firmly crossed.

just a little update, still running... knock on wood! not done many miles though as its my weekend car, broke it in at under 3k revs for 40 mile now i give it an occasional poke, at 150miles since the pikey bottom end fix eeek..
