Every two to three months having to top up coolant theres no leaks on under tray to show split pipes or anything also had new cambelt water pump a month a go due to water pump failing

Car has never had temperature rising or over heater ever, radiator is also brand new

Car is 2007 "56" and has the head mark "C" so shouldnt have head gasket or porous head problem

I have fitter egr delete and also have egr cooler delete pipe from darkside developments is it right for me to think the egr cooler is dripping coolant i to my exhaust and if i fit the cooler delete pipe it should stop ?

Also on startup i see white smoke coming out of exhaust so its indicating water in the exhaust system and egr was full of wet sludgy gunk when i removed it so signs of egr cooler failure

Will the egr cooler delete pipe/plug stop the cooler from leaking coolant ? Bit of a dilemma,

Cant find a straight answer on forums for what im asking all thread keep saying 2004 head mark A or B having porous issues and mines clearly marked C so my questions stays unanswered

Pressure test on the coolant reservoir over night, then see what you find.

If you have the EGR cooler delete pipe, which basically bypasses the cooler, then fit it, can't do any harm!

Surely if you have done EGR delete you have blanked it off at the exhaust manifold end, which means the coolant shouldnt be able to get back into the exhaust? Unless of course it's only blanked at the valve end.

If you fit this pipe, it basically takes the coolant away from the cooler fully, I've done the same but just bought the same pipe from audi tbh, removed the egr system completely, blanked the turbo outlet, but be careful as the heat on the plate warps this, so get a good quality blank & thick steel aswell or you'll be doing what I have & replacing, I did think about welding the damn thing so its closed of with no plates lol.

Welding it sounds like a better solution tbh! There was a thread on here somewhere showing a users blank had been blowing soot over the back of the engine, now you mention it, the heat in the exhaust manifold will quite happily warp a thin mild steel blank!

Also didn't realise Audi did a pipe that bypasses the EGR cooler, is it specific for that application or just a pipe that happens to fit?

Yeah its just a connector that I worked out will fit happily on the connectors in firewall & coolant hose.

I may try to find a thicker plate to test with & gasket, I don't want to weld but if it needs, then I must.

I dont want to remove the whole cooler as thats a bit of a long job, but just blanking the cooler if that stops it leaking coolant then ill be happy is this the hose the one you use to blank the cooler and stop it being used ??

The pic ive attached is that the little plug that will sort my leaking cooler ? As thas what i have bought from dark side developments they are adamant its my cooler leaking And any step by step guide to fitting

Thanks

My blank plate was put onto the egr cooler where the metal pipe comes from and connect onto the egr valve is that ok ? And right ?

Already been pressure tested mechanic said hard to tell as not much leaked out but deffo not head as no water oil mixture and no residue

Its not a long job to remove it all tbh, given your other work thus far, I cant imagine that'll challenge you :)

But if i fit that cooler delete pipe and then leave the blank plate on the egr cooler is it the same thing ? Just that i have to live with the weight of the cooler on my car ?

Also is this the hose i connect the cooler delete pipe onto ?

is the white smoke after being left outside over night?
Yes white smoke occurs when its been parked up then when i start it its coming out the exhaust, a noticeable amount

There is a VW part no blanking plate it's pretty thick. It's a VW part so must be up to the job. Just did this to mine, EGR delete and cooler removal. Be careful with the nuts on the studs. Dropping one into the manifold = really bad times lol
