Beware Ebay User.... Salvage-parts12

Its alrite mate we need to all keep together on these situations as its not fair on the really people like us.

Check your bank tho im sure they can help especialy if you have his details.

Sorry to hear that, but it's the risk of paying outside of eBay. Anyways do you not have their address? Go round there and have a snout......

Iv spoken to the bank and there is nothing they can do because it was a 'willing' transaction on my part. Yeah I do have his address but like one of the other members said they got caught out by the same person and wasted 40quid in fuel added 400 miles to their car and wasted 8 hours of his life lol. I could go there with my old man (black belt in taekwondo and black belt in kickboxing ;) ) but is there any point?? Iv called a breakers yard on that industrial estate and there is no one down there who breaks cars. The last 3 people who ripped me off/ threatened me with court action lost. I have enough to bring this tosser out of cloud nine!!

We should arrange to collect parts from him with cash on payment with a bonus (bonus being a poke in the eye, and kick in the teeth).
Hate eBay scammers, they ruin and give fear to new eBay users.

the likelihood is you'd never find him

never ever trust anyone who asks for money outside of a procedural transaction without seeing the goods on offer in person

I do agree with what your saying but where do you draw the line? Ive bought and sold lots of items in my past and i recently sold some JCW badges i had left over, i sold them cheap including postage (which can seem dodgy or to good to be true in some peoples eyes) all i asked was to be paid via bank transfer or PayPal gift. I offered all of my details in exchange (phone number, address, facebook profile etc etc) the transaction went smoothly and the person got their badges.

On the other hand i bought 3 iPhone 5's, 1st one the day it came out 2nd 2 weeks later 3rd about 1 1/2 months after it was released. All were false items via eBay, i paid via PayPal, i checked their feedback (2 of them had 1000's of positive feedback at 100% buyer and seller) i also spoke to all 3 sellers as i first wondered where they got the phone (1st one day it was released) 2nd one as i was worried about being done over again and 3rd same reason. All seamed genuine but all 3 were scumbags.

Heyho! You have to make a judgement call sometimes.

Also i recently bought something from a member on here, we have never met and it was for £350+ he asked for the money via PayPal gift and i paid after some details were exchanged. I got my goods and the member got his money.

Not everyone is a scumbag but you do have to have your whits about you.

After all this i won a fuel pump for my S3 on ebay yesterday, the seller was contacting me with all the questions i was asking fine no problem at all, now i have won it and payed for it (paypal) i havent heared anything since! Ebay name csut8496.

I really think ebay needs to do something about this as its getimg to easy for people to do it and get away with it!

Sorry to hear you have been scammed mate, I've had a few close calls in the past with items but they arrived at the last minute just before I was going to take matters into my own hands.

This is a lesson to be learned by all eBay buyers, never complete a transaction outside the security of eBay themselves or Paypal.

Best thing you can do now is give every piece of evidence/information you have to local authorities.

I hope you get the result you are looking for.

It is getting far too easy. I remember when the protection they gave was more so for the buyer than the seller now there is more protection for the seller than the buyer!! Purely because the seller is the one making them all their money so why would they protect buyers?!
I have reported it to local police and my bank. I have also carried out an online fraud enquiry to do with police as well so should hear back from them fairly soon. Gave them his address, eBay id and bank details :)
No guarantee I'll get my money but it's worth a shot at trying to bring down this scumbag.

if you have his bank account details set up some online donations, magazine subscriptions. not sure if its poss but worth a try.
someone did it jezza clarkson when he posted his details online.
And then get taken to court for fraud? Great suggestion.

Had a similar problem with seatbelts that were faulty in supply. He refused to send a refund after admitting mistake and dodged returning my £266. Unbeknown to him , tracked his address and went to his home, and politely knocked on his door asked for my money back. Some people have no morals and any scruples.

I have just raised a transaction dispute in PayPal so fingers crossed they won't get the money or will now actually get back to me on my eBay scumbag!!!!

Always, always, always pay using PayPal and not as a gift. If worst comes to worst you can open a dispute.

I know it's easier said than done sometimes, especially if it's a exceptionally good deal, but walk away if they start asking you to pay by bank transfer etc.

It's a shame that you can't trust anyone nowadays but that's the world we live in.

It is a massive shame because people like him take trust away from people, espesially for people like myself who is trying to run a very small self employed business when one of my main income payment methods is bank transfer. On the plus side though you will all be pleased to know that this seller on ebay is NO longer selling anything on ebay!!! Well done guys, thank you all for your help, wise words of encouragement and support. Thank you so much!!

just to alert people do not buy any a3 sline parts from this ebay user :damagedpx

the car he is advertising is a fraudulant listing i know as i fitted a new engine mount to that car with that reg only 2 daya ago . i see the guy nearly everyday and it was him who alerted me to the fact as he was then worried if his car was legit .
his car is , the seller is only 10 miles away from us so we went to the said postcode and asked a few of the locals (all garage workshops units)
which pointed us to a unit . no-one around so we asked next door ,alot of immigrants run the place and the minute we showed them the listing and the fact we were actually parked outside int he said vehicle listed ,they all just scattered . reported it to the police and ebay but the listing is still there .

This is very worrying , ordered a set of vents from a guy on E-bay on Monday .
Went outside of E-bay at his request , best offer , paid with paypal but nothing has arrived as yet ,
Fired off an E-mail but no reply , bu@@er !
I better wait a bit , just incase he is legit , fingers crossed .

What's the eBay link, I'll have a look and report it as fraudulent

If you can give plenty of details to check out to cover yourself then its easier to make that judgement call, I've bought things this way too, though low value

sometimes a decent feedback seller could have had their accounts hacked, its happened to me about 6 years ago, someone was selling fake handbags on my account. Iphones are BIG business on ebay and one of the easiest targets for scumbag scammers, but given the increasing amount of phones being stolen in muggings and robberies, its just never wise to buy an expensive high end phone off the second hand online market at all anymore

I have been stiffed on Ebay just once.. Never again. These people are scum, industrial strength *********, they need a damn good kicking. They give legitimate persons a bad name.

Dave

If it helps anyone I once had someone prosecuted for eBay fraud.

I was buying a Sony laptop to take on tour to Afghanistan and went through all the process as normal on eBay. He wanted payment by bank transfer and I thought nothing of it. He was using a btinternet.com email address and I had his bank details so I didn’t think he could be stupid enough to try and rip me off. Well he was.

After payment I heard nothing more from him and ended up buying a laptop from elsewhere before the tour. When I came home on R&R I took copies of every email, relevant screenshots and his bank details to the police and reported him. It took a while to get things sorted because I went back to Afghan and I was based in Germany at the time. They did track the guy down and he denied all knowledge but with all the evidence against him they took him to court and he ended up pleading guilty.

He had to pay me damages to the full cost of what I had paid him and he got another notch on his record. The stinger for me though is he’s on benefits so the money that comes to me is deducted from that. Also the conviction was in early 2009 and he’s still paying it. About £80 still to go from the original £740 I think.

Iv spoken to police and I have to do an online fraud form and they may be able to get my money back. I have all of his bank details, initial and surname as well as his 'yard' address that i managed to get using another eBay user to get in contact with him. I might just take a drive and pay him a visit :)
Wow well boy do I wish I had read this thread sooner I just dished out 200 quid to this fella and judging by what you guys have said it's never coming , so let's start with his name I have a k archer? Does that march yours also what's the adress of his "yard" I have one for Asheville estate glocestoure but that's a way away from me , I know I'm a mug but I thout if I have good in me people can't all be bad, lesson definatly
Learnt , when asked if I could pick up from a friends Acount he says yes open from 9 until 2, and gave me the postcode , I checked this before I handed the money over an I found there was a breakers there , I also asked him from another friends Acount just after I said I would transfer the money , if the item I was after was still available and he replied saying it's sold, I was thinking I was one step ahead of him , but beware these people do this for a living , I knew I should of stuck with gut, can we see if the info we have matches up ? If so I'm happy to go down and do enough damage to Acount for both our losses , I'm very capable.

My girlfriends eBay account asked for a price of the interior just now and he replied 700, when asked where I could pick up from and for a contact number he replied

Ashville road Asheville industrial estate , Gloucester,Gloucestershire Gl2 5eu

Open 9-3
He told me previously the same address but 9-2 there is a breakers there Iv googled it but when called they say they just scrap cars, he doesn't state what unit on that industrial estate, is anyone close by enough to have a nose and see if they can find a breakers, or a yard that may look like the yard from the pictures on his current eBay post... It's still live , it's a long way from home but if I know he's tere il come , if he's not it will cost me more in loss of wages and fuel that I lost , although I'm bitter I can't afford to loose out any more than I already have ! Can any one help?!

I also think there may be a possibility of him breaking cars as he had pictures of interior very promt on request I googled the interior and couldn't find the picture he sent, maybe it's a real photo !

My guy came up trumps , bits arrived today all present and correct , sorry for doubting you Simron .
Must admit , all this has made me think though , it could just as easily have gone horribly wrong .
From now on I will play by the rules and not settle outside of E-bay just to save a few quid .

I'm really pleased for you pal I think we have definatly been turned over no reply atall now no phone number on request I think the postcode and adress is a dud to, I have said to the bank I accidentally sent money to the wrong account number, I will se how that goes, they must be able to give me information or at least hand it to the police after all the bank Acount must be traceable !

I think what he does is, he looks at your location and picks a random breaker that is far away from your location to discourage you from picking up the goods. I was given an address in Essex. It didn’t work because I have a diesel. This guy needs to stopped; we need tougher laws for scammers. Lol I guess in a way this is karma biting back. We upgrade addicts have been benefiting from others accidents, mechanical failure write offs and some stolen cars.

is is the first Time I decided to spend some money on upgrading my vehicle as I often thought it was money better spent elsewhere , but it was all I could afford instead of a new motor ! it's safe to say that's probably put an end to it ! Your right mate he's not even in Gloucester I traced to sort code back to plaistow in London, I'm not sure really now what to do from here , this guy has breakers yard himself in east london somewhere I'm sure of it ! Just don't know where ! I'm guna look into it the bank account must be linked to an address ! It's obviously active

The bank sort code won't give you any clues unfortunately. You could open an account at any branch sort code from any other branch of the same Bank - unless he/she isn't that smart!

He can't be that smart.... The advert he's got on at the moment is clearly just screenshots from Facebook As one of them is still loading....

I'll send him a message to say I'm from Plaistow in London and would like to collect, might spook him a little bit haha.

Sent :)

Hi,

How much for the alloys and rear bumper? Is collection ok? I'm currently working in London (Plaistow) and I see your location is London so hopefully you're not far away..

Thanks!
Adam

If only I had been more observant before I can see the pictures have been taken in bluewater from a garage or car dealers in the back ground , I'm not sure weather he wil of taken these pictures himself or found them on the net , if he's taken them himself then he's closer to home than I thought, what's your thouts do you think he's taken these photos, or stole them? He has a black vxr outside some garages, when I ask for pictures of the interior he sent me pictures of the seats inside what looks like the same garage ! It's so frustrating!

I think he's stealing them off google to be honest mate.. he's had several different accounts over the years from looking on eBay - k.snipez seems to be the one he's used for the longest period, there's also essexparts14. Looks like he's scammed a lot of people, there's threads about him on R32-OC, mk5golfgti and a VXR forum - still no addresses though :-(
