Are wheel spacers designed to work with spigot rings etc?
Looking at getting some 12mm H+R hubcentrics all round when I have my wheels/brakes refurbed etc.

Want a little bit more of a stance without causing too much grief with spacers and bolts.
Never used spacers before.. does anything else other than slightly longer bolts need to be done when using them like rebalancing of wheels etc?

Mine are aftermarket rotors with spigot rings to make the bore 57.1 I believe yes. THe H+R 12mm seem to have a small tapered part that would seat against the spigot ring but ofc having not used them before Im not 100%.

Most if not all spacers have tapered edge anyway, these ones do & I've had few sets of them now, as long as the spacers have the flange as per the hub to sit square as such, then they will be fine, its when there is no flange where problems can occur with vibration.

Yes so they remain hubcentric.

Uh they would need a spigot as the bore on the hub would still be 57.1, the hr's have internal & external 66.6, also why pay twice the price when the bimecc's are reliable & they come with longer bolts.

Do you know what the centre bore on your wheels actually is?

I have just ordered new spigot rings for when wheels are resprayed as the curernt oens getting tatty. so they will be a bore of 57.1.
ill have a look at bimmecs also

well im fairly confident that the red spigot rings im using are 66.6 to 57.1 as they are replica wheels.

Morning Damian, the aftermarket TTRS rotors are usually 66.6 bore mate :)

If you wanted to stick with H&R they offer a spacer that has a 57.1 inner centre bore and a 66.5 outer centre bore like Nigel mentioned with the Bimecc spacers.

Hi Damien,

Not overly bothered to be honest who they are made by, just ones that will fit right and not cause issues lol.
What can you offer me ? :D

That's interesting, nice one Damian, as I was looking for the same for a client, nobody seemed to do them, but 12mm is to wide with clients 19's rotors, you got a link to your site mate with these so I can have a look please.

Need to watch - certainly where the rears are concerned, 12mm is about as small as you go if you wanna stay hubcentric..... anything smaller than that and you'll need to shave the hub lip down to get them to fit.

Veering slightly off topic though - I've never really understood spacer snobbery. I cant really fathom why folk would choose H&R spacers at £120 odd quid, when there are perfectly suitable alternatives out there for about a third of that?!

Is there actually some benefit in a higher quality spacer that i'm unaware of?? Not meaning it in an argumentative / controversial way either I should stress - there may well be valid reasons for spending more on a 'premium' spacer.

Special order Nigel so not online, what size and spec were you after?

H&R are pretty much the best quality spacers on the market in terms of weight, finish and the metals used. Yes a cheaper alternative will do exactly the same job but some of those cheaper alternatives are prone to cracking and corrosion, they generally weigh more as well.

As with most things, it's personal choice.
