Remap

just bought a 54 a3 8p 2.0 tdi 140 dsg and looking at getting it remapped. it has fash and 104k, would people recommend getting it done with this mileage?? also what sort of increase in bhp and torque can i expect?? im based in Halifax west Yorkshire if anyone can recommend somewhere.

Generally....Darkside Developements for diesels. But Unicorn Tuning or Awesome Gti would be closest for you unless you fancy travelling.

I've heard nothing but good things about Unicorn, when I eventually have some spare cash I'll be getting mine mapped there.

Just make sure your insurance company will still cover you if you get your car remapped.
If I choose to go down this route I will have to choose a different insurance company as Direct Line do not cover mapped cars.

Can I ask those who have had there's done or know people who have which insurance companies cover mapped cars that don't have excess prices?

Adrian Flux insured mine when remapped and the price was very reasonable. Be aware though, when the map was put back to standard (I had an ECU fail) my insurance went up by quite a bit. They specialise in modified cars, so unmodified often work out more expensive with them.

I had mine Audi A4 2.0 TDI 177 S line remaped last month with Rowdogs mapping they are part of the Black Code. I'm really satisfied with the result. I got extra 50 HP and +80 torque. They also come to you if you live in West Yorkshire. Would definitely recommend them.

As far as a remap @Rick @ Unicorn Motor Dev. is very good. He mapped mine and has done may other diesels and petrols for members on here. Also a forum sponsor. He is in Stockport so probably less than an hour from you. 104K miles is not a lot of miles on a diesel.
Darkside do just diesels and they make some bonkers cars but they aren't the most reliable.
