How Long For Build Date After Order?

Just wondering how long people had to wait for a build date after ordering a car through a dealer. I'm already getting impatient and only ordered last Wednesday it's going to be a long and painful wait for the car. Haven't been told a date yet but don't wanna feel like I keep pestering the dealer.
 
I ordered over a month ago and haven't heard anything yet
 
I was given a build week the day I ordered the car.
 
I waited a month before calling, my dealer was very apologetic afterwards. Though, I haven't heard from him since. Hopefully this forum will keep you busy :D!

Ring and ask them, I was told a rough date, then was brought forward by 10 weeks. They will know a build week after a week I would think. Someone also said they try and do similar type ordèrs at same time, but not sure....
 
Not sure, ordered it last friday, he placed the order at the factory yesterday. Delivery is planned for somewhere in December. (SB, for a saloon I had to wait till February, which was no option)

Got my first build week about a week after ordering

Initially got BW50, now BW 48. Hoping for BW 46 or sooner ;)
 
Ordered Sunday, delivery last week in October :)

another thread a guy ordered an S3 saloon and he said 7 months!?
 
Signed the order form and paid my deposit on a Saturday - had the build week two days later on the Monday......
 
Ordered mine on a Monday dealer emailed me BW Next day, dealer also sent me regular email updates even when nothing had changed, great service throughout.

I ordered an S3 saloon the last week in March, still waiting for a build date.
Now the dealer is telling me it might not be until after the new year, he's offered me my deposit back.
I've tried a few dealers to see if they have any dealer allocations or cancelled orders, nothing about.:unhappy:

He won't be able to give you a build date until the new year? That's crazy.....
I'm ok to wait 7 months but if I wasn't given a build date for the last 5 months I would go nuts.
 
I think he means the car till after new year :)

Thats crazy, the waiting times for saloons is insane atm. Its going under due to its own succes.
 
I got my BW the same day as the order/deposit was posted,,,, BW 47 for me...
 
Some very varied build dates given after order been placed,I wonder if it's cos some dealers have used up all their allocations for that quarter but don't tell you to get a sale and then order it as soon as they are allowed.

As my dealer told me each dealer is allocated so many types of models per 1/4 so this could be the reason for long lead times. May give my dealer a call and see what he has to say.

Keep hassling the dealer, mine changes his 'outlook' every couple of weeks.
 
I bet a saloon owner could modestly spec one up and on delivery instantly sell it at profit to someone wanting to avoid the waiting list

Two days after I put my order in. Ordered July 28th - Received in the mail on July 30th. I just found out I will be getting my A3 2.0 Quattro sedan the week of
September 22nd.

Well I called my salesman today to ask for a build date after I ordered just short of two weeks ago and he still hasn't got one.
He said that he will keep me updated every 4 weeks so in 2 weeks time he will be calling me back with an update which will hopefully be a built date.

When I asked twice if they had any allocations for the S3 saloon he sort of avoided the question which really annoyed me. Got me thinking wether or not they have one with me not having a build date yet.
 
It seems like by now they should be able to tell you more information. I hate it
when they avoid your questions. Good Luck and I hope you get an answer soon. ( I would keep trying )
 
Did you guys get any documents stating the estimated delivery date when signing? Mine says 28th February 2015
 
The only document I received was in the mail, two days after I ordered it.
It stated Actual Production Week. 34/2014 08/18/2014. It did not
have an actual delivery date on it then.
 
I never got anything like this, just paperwork stating the car and spec I ordered along with my receipt of deposit and nothing else.
 
I've been told to expect build date around week 40, I wonder if the vagueness of the build date corresponds to the amount or rarity of options?
 
My dealer said to me today with my kinda of spec it would make it longer order rather than just a standard S3 saloon with minimul extras.
 
I reckon its the B&O that's causing a delay for you, I was told by Audi themselves that the sound systems "can" cause delays because of what they have to do with the car in the production line.

I ordered in August gave me a verbal BW then 3 weeks later confirmed by Audi (even gave the order sheet to show) as BW39.

3dr though not Saloon.

Oh and Bristle after the amount of influence you've had on us, you ain't selling!!! :jester:

Mine said 30th March 2015 on original documentation (ordered mid August), now it's BW 47 - mid Nov! So not sure what is changed, will chase dealer next week and see what is in system now. Might even be earlier.......

Mid November this year? Wow that's a big difference... I would definitely be happy with that.
It's possible someone has pulled out from buying and they have a car in the system similar to your specs hence they can bring the date forward... lucky git! lol
