I am trying to convince myself to start using Spotify, had my account for over a year and not used it once, I have seen folks with it but whats the benefits of the premium acc, will they let me download to my iphone etc? I only really use my ipod classic in the car but thought it might be off use to my kids who could use it on their android tablets.

You can set playlists/albums to offline, so you don't need signal. I use spotify everyday.

Not heard of this before…
So what do you get and how much do it all cost?

Sounds to me like you paying to listen to the radio?

My phone connects to the bluetooth in the car and any tracks available,it keeps my 18 GB hard drive free :arco:

It is like a radio station, but you run it, can put whatever track on whenever you want it, make play lists that can be available offline and discover new artists using their "similar artists" feature. I think you can get 6 months free with some phone contracts and when you sign up to virgin media so worth trying it if you can try it for free

I use it quite a lot these days but cant justify the £9.99 a month on top of all the other outgoings I have, so I make do with streaming and the occasional advert.

Its all very well saying you can download things to listen to offline - but that of course involves having a stack of free space on your device to store it on to begin with.

If you have plenty data to use on your device - i'd recommend just streaming it and saving yourself a tenner a month. If you lose signal it can be a bit annoying I guess...... but that's never really bothered me much.

spotify is really good , i download all my tracks to the phone for offline and my misses can use her phone in the house listening to her tunes whilst ironing :p

Alternate free online radio for me, never pay for anything I can do without... other than all the bits and bobs on my car haha

Another alternative is Google Play, which is pretty much the same as Spotify in terms of cost and available content. I prefer Google's music player and the ommision of Facebook or other social integration
