Apart from 27 Bhp what is the difference

I was told the are the same engine lump same piston but the 170 has bigger turbo and better injectors how true is this ?

Does anybody actually know the difference

I have the 143 and if its possible i would like to get it to 170 then push it over 200 like you can in the 170 version

Any help would be great

I have heard before mate that the 143 is a better engine especially if your thinking of remapping!..

143hp & 170hp CR (caga 105kw ,caha 125kw ) same stroke & cylinder bore only turbo, injectors an map different from what i know off
in some a6 c6 170's not 100% if all where in caha from 08- so i can't comment on reliability need to check engine code as some still used older 170 engine

When I bought my 2013 177bhp a4 Quattro I asked question and was told by Audi themselves that map on this car was the only difference. Nothing else.

Well if this works you can check 143hp model

The difference between the 143 and 177 BHP versions is a turbo and a map difference.. The 143 bhp version has a GTC1446VZ turbo and the 177 BHP version has a GTC1549VZ turbo, I'm also looking at getting my 143 BHP version re-mapped to around 200 but don't know what is the safe limit on this turbo, if anyone does know please could you share some light on the same..
